It is the 1st Sunday of Lent.  Lent is really underway now.

The Roman Station is St. John Lateran.

I provide these especially in gratitude to benefactors who help me and this blog.

I hope this hasn’t been requested before. Could you, perhaps after your return from pilgrimage, explain the significance of the Roman Stations? They are described with great care at the front of most missals of the old rite, but I have yet to understand what the significance of this information is.

Love these podcasts, Father! Thank you. And the ”impersonation” of Pope St Leo the Great, including the slight echo, was quite creative!

  3. Ms. M-S says:

Thanks, Fr. Z, for the podcasts from your pilgrimage as well as today’s Lenten offering, especially your resounding reading in the latter. That’s a priestly voice (remembering a recent discussion on the subject of the “priest voice”) I could gladly listen to every day!

    Thanks, Father.
