It’s Ember Saturday in the 1st Week of Lent.

The Roman Station is San Pietro in Vaticano.

Today we hear about the logic of the Ember Days and the progression of thought from the 1st Sunday of Lent to today, traditionally a day for ordinations.  St. Theresa of Jesus gives some advice.

    The part I don’t understand at all is the “stations” you mention, which appear to be various churches in Rome. I’ve never heard of this before; what is the significance of this custom/tradition?
