Approval of miracles will lead to canonization and beatification. A surprise and a request from @FatherZ

At Vatican News we see that a miracle was approved for Bl. Charles de Foucauld, Apostles to the Muslims.  This will lead to his canonization.

Also of interest is the miracle approved for Ven. Pauline-Marie Jaricot, foundress of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith and the Living Rosary Association.   In years past on this blog I have suggested to readers to ask her intercession for miracles for her cause.  For example, when now-Fr. Philip Johnson was fighting his brain cancer, I proposed her.  This is good news.  They perhaps changed the Roman promoter.  He did little to nothing.  So, this is a pleasant surprise!  I thought her cause was in a coma.

Of a lot of interest to many is the recognition of a miracle through the intercession of Ven. Michael McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus.  This cause has always surprised me while not surprising me at all.  Firstly, the KofC have a lot of clout and it is understandable that they wanted their pious founder to be canonized.  However, McGivney left such a thin record of his thoughts, interior life, through texts that the case built for his heroic life of virtue was well-constructed but very thin.  We have hardly anything that he wrote or said.  And if memory serves, a sermon that he gave is recounted only second hand.  In any event, it seems that Fr. McGivney will now be beatified.

I renew my request that you ask Ven. Fulton J. Sheen to intercede for a miracle for  Fr.  Dana Christensen, a priest of the Diocese of Sioux Falls, who comments here frequently.  He was diagnosed with  amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, ALS, or “Lou Gehrig’s Disease”.

Other causes could use your energies.  I call to mind the cause of Ven. Augustus Tolton.  I suggest that you pray to him for the miraculous healing of Rush Limbaugh’s lung cancer.    We owe a great deal to Rush.  HERE

I highly recommend the Living Rosary Association. Long ago it introduced me to a closer relationship with St. Philomena, who brought about more than one miracle in my life. Thank you, Father, for keeping us reminded of the power of the Church Triumphant. (I wonder if young people learn any more about these branches of the Church.)

LOVE Ven. Augustus Tolton!! Thank you for these updates!!

  3. I love Ven. Augustus Tolton. He has an amazing story. He also had the face of an angel. I have his picture in my office at work.

We printed off the prayer for Fr. Christiansen when it was posted and continue to pray for Ven. Fulton J. Sheen to intercede for a miracle for him.

Great news all around – especially for the cause of Ven. Pauline-Marie Jaricot…..and hopefully an increased devotion to the living rosary and the rosary overall. God continues to bless and help us all through the example of the lives of each of them!

Our rosary group asks bishop Sheen to intercede every night for father Christensen as requested.
