ADVENTCAzT 2021: 06 – Friday in the 1st Week of Advent – About those gates of Hell…

One of a series of 5 minute daily podcasts during Advent 2021. Today Peter Kreeft gives us a reason, one of many, for why he is Catholic. Fr. Spitzer talks about “nothing”. Commodianus warns us.

    Ab fab. Thanks, Father!

  3. Ms. M-S says:

I’m glad I was wide awake to take this all in! Thanks, Fr. Z.

  4. JonPatrick says:

Thank You Father. It was nice to hear that selection from Fr. Spitzer, that rare breed an orthodox Jesuit. He has a lot of interesting things to say about how science supports belief in God. Also the encouraging words from Dr. Kreeft. It is sometimes hard to believe the Church will survive what it is currently going through but we have to trust in God’s promises.

  5. PostCatholic says:

Quite a lot of figures are foretold in scriptural literature–Zoroaster/Zarathustra comes to mind. And there’s an extent to which the Christian evangelists are supporting the idea of Jesus of Nazareth as the messianic king with allusive citations, but that those prophecies are ambiguous enough to apply to someone else. Not that I nominate anyone else, but history tells us other did.
