More on the Agony in the garden, the 9pm hour
“My child, do you want to know what it is that
torments Me more than My executioners? Indeed, the
executioners’ tortures are nothing compared to this! It
is eternal love which, wanting primacy in all things,
makes Me suffer all at once and in My most intimate
recesses what the executioners will make Me suffer little
by little. Oh, My child, it is love which prevails over Me
and in Me in all things. Love is the nails for me, love is
the scourging, love is the crown of thorns – love is
everything for Me. Love is My perennial Passion, while
that [torments inflicted on Me] by men is in time. Oh,
My child, enter into My Heart, come and dissolve
yourself in My love, as only in My love will you
comprehend how much I suffered and how much I
loved you, and you will learn to love Me and to suffer
    for love alone.”

For those that enjoy science fiction, here is a clip from the 90s series Babylon 5, episode “Passing through Gethsemane”. Brother Edward (a member of the contingent of monks who came to live on the station to study alien beliefs about God), recounts his thoughts about the agony in the Garden to Delenn, the ambassador from Minbar:

Br. Edward has to pass through his own Garden of Gethsemane later in the episode….But I won’t give it away…
