Thanks, Father Z. This year, with many kinds of challenges to the practice of the faith and growing hostility to the faithful themselves, it seems easy to enter into the penitential mode of Lent.

Nice to see this right now.

I woke up today with my family ill with stomach flu. I went to the car to warm it up so I can leave early to buy them ginger ale. My boss texted me to alert me we are short staffed.

    All at once…what to do?

Take up my cross and say a prayer of thanks that I am healthy enough to do what I need to for everyone. And listen to this podcast on my Bluetooth.

This is actually a fitting start to a penitential season.

My car should be warm now. Off to face the day.
