On the island in Greece where I live, ashes are sprinkled on top of your head by the priest. I have never seen this in all my life and I’ve been to Ash Wednesday Mass in different countries over the years.

Good Father Z, on behalf of those of us who, through age or whatever other circumstances, can no longer make Lenten or Advent trips to the wonderful places you take us in your podcasts, many, many thanks. You never let us down!

“Ashes are not going to last for 6 weeks except in your own penitential attitude.”
    Very good statement, Father Z!

Thank you for the reflection, Father! I looked up Santa Sabina to see what you were describing, especially the depiction of Jesus crucified between the two thieves!
