As you remember, I have endorsed and peddled the lovely music CDs from the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles. Their discs have continually topped music charts. They were names by Billboard Classical Traditional Artist of 2012 and 2013.
Now I read that PBS has a special they will air about them. The schedule is HERE.
Check it out!
If you are in the UK, put “Benedictines of Mary” into my UK searchbox at the bottom of the blog’s page. You can always use that UK search box for your amazon searches, whatever they may be. I’d appreciated it.
Meanwhile, here are US links to their discs:
For Advent.
For Christmas.
For Lent.
Angels and Saints.
Wondering why WTTW in Chicago does not appear to be among the PBS stations airing this special. Guess being in a small market like Chicago they could not afford it.
I ordered the Lenten CD through Father Z’s Amazon link, and the sisters’ voices are absolutely angelic.
My apologies to the management of WTTW. It appears this special was broadcast in Chicago back in March. I am very sorry I missed it.
DVR set. Check. I look forward to hearing them for the first time.
I quite enjoyed their Lent CD on Spotify this past season. I love them and the Dominican Sisters of Mary Mother of the Eucharist’s CD which you also featured Father Z.
Have you ever thought about putting a link in for other amazons: Italy, France, Germany?
I happened to turn on PBS last night to see what was on (we’re in pledge drive season so it can be anything) and my jaw dropped on the floor when I saw the lovely Benedictines of Mary. I finally capitulated and called to make a pledge, thereby acquiring a copy of the DVD they were showing. I hope this will send a message to PBS about programming options. It was encouraging that the person I spoke with on the phone said they were getting a lot of calls right then.
I was actually hoping to make that call at a time when they were featuring the Father Brown series, which I am enjoying immensely, but couldn’t pass up the Benedictines. Are others also liking Father Brown as much as I am?
I have all their music; they’re very good singers and theologically very solid. They quote Dom Marmion on their website!
The Daughters of Mary are another musically talented group of nuns.
