TESTING the POLL plugin to see if it works – your assistance requested – FIXED (I think)

UPDATE: Fixed

The “problem” is the way we deploy WordPress means everyone using the plugin seems to come from a single IP address and so only one person can vote.  We found a way around it.

We might have to do this a few times.  Hopefully not!

Registered users can comment, but anyone can vote.

TEST POLL (because it was broken and we're fixing it))

  1. Josephus Corvus says:

Not working for me. When I first got to the page, it wouldn’t let me click on a radio button. That sounds correct, since the instructions say that registered users can vote. I logged in and now it shows only the results with no option to vote. (The results are only one vote that that’s for the first choice).

  2. DvdH says:

I was able to see the poll but not vote because I wasn’t logged in. Not able to see the poll after I’ve logged in. But I can see the results i.e. one vote for “too hard”

  3. Thanks for the description of what you experienced. If others have the same experience, no need to say so yet. However, if you get some different experience, let us know.

  4. Phil_NL2 says:

I see the poll as having already been filled in by 1 user, with no opportunity to vote, as if it was closed or I had voted – even though I had, nor seen the post before.

  5. Edsterman says:

I am unable to click anywhere to vote.

  6. Titus says:

Nope. It still appears as a closed poll with one vote. It comes up exactly the same in an incognito browser as well.

  7. acardnal says:

I am unable to click anywhere to vote.

  8. Irish Timothy says:

I’m logged in but unable to vote

Is it because I’m in Canada? Crazy eh! LOL!!!!!

    Non possum optiones ponere

  10. EAW says:

The answer is definitely too hard, so hard that I’m unable to vote. ;)
One person has voted, but after that the poll seems to have closed.

  11. Prayerful says:

Doesn’t work, but maybe turned off by now. God bless Fr.

  12. ex seaxe says:

    Well I clicked

  13. Elizabeth R says:

    I was able to vote

  14. MitisVis says:

I was able to chose any vote option without logging in. Was 6 votes Just Right and 2 each the others at that time

  15. GHP says:

    It worked for me.

  16. DvdH says:

Ok so this time I was able to vote but when I went in to read the post and comments, the vote options were gone and the count of votes is incorrect – 19 for “just right”, 3 for “too hard” and 2 for “too soft” but a total of 10 votes :-)
    I’m on my phone

  17. Vir Qui Timet Dominum says:

    Ecce, optionem elegere posui!

  18. Gregg the Obscure says:

wholly off topic, but thanks again for your recommendation of By the Rivers of Babylon. i enjoyed that book very much. because of that i just wrapped up the audiobook of Father Elijah. as i mentioned to a close friend, no work of fiction has ever moved me so much. i eagerly await Elijah in Jerusalem. perhaps after my upcoming surgery i will read it the old-fashioned way.

  19. jaykay says:

Everything worked fine, just as it used to pre- transfer, and that was using the phone and not logged in (obviously am now).

  20. Phil_NL2 says:

    Works now

  21. jflare29 says:

    I voted too hard.
Before signing in, I only see the vote result. After I sign in, I can cast a vote.

  22. NickD says:

I could vote! Buuut… On my end, the percentages add up to 110%. Also, adding up each category’s votes says 160 voted, but “Total Voters” states 146

  23. revueltos67 says:

It would be interesting to have a poll like this associated with a chess problem now and then.

  24. revue associated with a chess problem

Tell me more about that. What would that look like?

“What is white’s best move?” And then give options?

  25. poohbear says:

Working for me on Thursday, but did not work on Wednesday.

  26. Elizium23 says:

When in Catholic grade school, some of the boys would take delight in guiding others through the backwards spelling of “Mississippi” and it seems that Vint Cerf and his unsung colleague, Robert Kahn, managed to deploy such Fifth Grader Jokes across the globe.

Speaking of which, please pray for my intentions, as I attempt to authenticate with A.R.I.N. in order to relinquish an 8-bit-wide slice of the Internet which I was never able to use. I was surprised to learn that I am still technically the “owner” even after 34 years of no contact.

  27. Fr. Kelly says:

The poll worked for me but the total vote count is off by 8.
    Total votes listed at 258.
Tallying up the reported votes in the 3 categories yields 266 votes.

Still it seems to be more accurate than the voting machines used in our general elections ;-)

Also I don’t see an option to review comments before posting like there was before.
