What memories! On my last trip to Rome in June of 2019 I stayed with friends in the 2nd floor apartment on the far left of this picture. You couldn’t imagine a better location. Rome is a spiritual and aesthetic addiction. No amount of therapy, no support group will ever free you from it. The only way to live with it is to return to the City on a regular basis. Unlike sinful addictions, this one never ceases to bring new delights of grace and beauty. For all her squalor and chaos she has been so transformed by the blood of the martyrs as to be a living icon of our fallen and redeemed human nature. Ave Roma Immortalis!

Now please put that on a travel brochure.
Sure makes me want to go.

For those of us who have not been to Rome (and are not likely to anytime soon due to the ongoing Wuhan pandemic) what is that imposing building in the background?

  4. KSC says:

JonPatrick – that is Castel Sant’Angelo.
