Your Sunday Sermon Notes – Dedication of St. Michael (N.O.: 26th) 2024

Too many people today are without good, strong preaching, to the detriment of all. Share the good stuff.

Was there a GOOD point made in the sermon you heard at your Mass of obligation for this Feast of the Dedication of St. Michael, or the 26th Sunday of Ordinary Time?

Tell us about attendance especially for the Traditional Latin Mass.

Any local changes or (hopefully good) news?

A couple thoughts about the sign of the cross: HERE  A taste…

The Enemy is vast, cunning and relentless.  How vast?  Some have posited that an angel was assigned to everything that moved, which would make some sense out of ancient peoples watching the movements of the planets, etc., for insight.  However, with great telescopes we now see far beyond planets into the far beyond beyond the beyonds.  There are a lot of moving things out there.  That’s macro.  There’s also micro.  With great microscopes and colliders, we see subatomic particles of which atoms are composed.

Attendance has become so large at our FSSP parish that a sixth (6th) Sunday Mass will be introduced next week.

We were told that St. Michael is a great example of humility and we can pray to him to know the truth of ourselves. It’s holy and fruitful to admit when we are wrong,

7am low mass, lots of kids and all quiet. Sanctuary has many young boys serving and in choir. A large crew under 12 years old. The future looks good!

    Beautiful Mass, Beautiful Choir.
I was hoping with the Gospel the Father would have talked about the child sex trafficking.

I visited the SSPX and was thankful to be early as there was standing room only. The reverence and holy silence of the faithful was beautiful. Father’s homily focused on St Michael. St Michael spoke to Joshua before he could lead the people to the promised land. (I am waiting for our promised land – the True Church restored) Father told us to say the St Michael prayer every day also beg Our Lady for true humility. Father told us to lean on St Michael and Our Blessed Mother to lead us to God and protect us from the devil. I made a note to look up the “line of St Michael” a series of places in honor of St Michael that make a line like a sword. Keep the Faith!

NO. Our Parish Priest was back from his break-so I didn’t need to go along the coast to the Ordinariate Mass. The priests who covered for him are definitely to be avoided. One was ordained in 1969, which says it all. The other one has never been seen in a Chasuble and always moves the priest’s chair to the centre in front of the altar. Fr’s sermon was on the plucking out of your eye or cutting off your hands etc. He pointed out that Jesus often likened Hell to Gehenna where the rubbish from Jerusalem was burnt. Hell is real and people go there. But he said the worst thing about hell is not the fire but the eternal separation from God. This will happen if we don’t free ourselves from sin. We need to go to Confession-a recurring theme in his sermons. I don’t think he reads your blog Fr Z but he’s certainly with you on urging Confession.
