Playing with my new Bible

Like every little boy with a new toy, I am seriously playing with my new Ignatius Catholic Study Bible: Old and New Testaments from my wish list!  I unboxed it the other day.  HERE

St. Thomas Aquinas wrote that worship and play were related, since they are both done for there own good.

I received my copy of the leather bound (therefore soft cover) enormous now Bible. It is fantastic.

I’ve started to transfer notes from the edition I have been using.

A contrast.

The problem is that as I work through the pages I find that the editors of the new edition often beat me to it!   Not that I am disappointed, of course.

When I travel, I will still use my small edition with my .05 pen and tiny triangle and credit card Fresnel lens.

Right now I am referencing Anthony Esolen’s incredible book about the Prologue of John.

In the Beginning Was the Word: An Annotated Reading of the Prologue of John
