NEW LATEST: Spanish Publication La Razón claims Pope Leo XIV is against the Traditional Latin Mass and that Cardinal Roche’s January document was written at the Pope’s request.

And… something entirely risible that will make certain Jesuits and bishops tingle all over…
The Pontifical Biblical Commission of the Vatican declared, following a “thorough biblical study” commissioned by then-Pope Francis, that it has finally concluded that the sin of Sodom and Gomorrah—for which the two cities were exterminated and struck down—was not due to acts of homosexual depravity (Sodomia) by their inhabitants, but rather the “rejection of the immigrant.” To this level of aberration the Vatican has arrived!

White to move and mate in 4.

NB: I’ll hold comments with solutions ’till the next day so there won’t be “spoilers” for others.

Padre,
I think your recent posts have been wonky as far as the links. In this post and a recent one I’ve not seen four different links, but duplicate links in sequence. For example, in this post I’m seeing two copies of the “La Razón” and two copies of “Niwa Limbu.”
Giving any credit to anything La Razón says about Church life and politics is more or less like doing the same with the, IDK, The Sun. La Razón is a tabloid (in the derogatory sense of the word), known for just posting whatever kind of stuff they consider controversial or “juicy” enough, and their regard for truth *in general* is universally considered lacking, across the board.
Sacrifice the Queen.

So… Demanding the use of the angel visitors’ bodies was rejecting them as immigrants.
Uh huh.
Even though the same thing happened to the young lady concubine, much later, and she ended up r*ped and murdered, her real problem was being rejected for being a member of a different Israelite tribe. Or maybe an immigrant.
Yeahhhhhh.
Are there any good men left in Rome?
Seems like the predictions of Our Lady of La Salette and Archbishop Fulton Sheen are being realised as we live.
I can fully understand the opposition to the FSSPX from Rome – the FSSPX is highlighting the inadequacies coming from Rome.
Did anyone actually think Pope Leo didn’t ask Roche to write that paper? To date he still hasn’t said a solitary word in favor of the TLM.
Regarding the news on Sodom . . . It’s almost comical how blatant the Leaders of the Church have been. Anyone who can’t see that normalizing sexual perversion is their number one goal is a world champion at hiding their head in the sand
Just read “What is Man?” (Ps 8:5). An itinerary of biblical anthropology (30 September 2019) from the PBC.
“187. The story, however, does not intend to present the image of an entire city dominated by uncontrollable homosexual desires, but rather denounces a social and political conduct that fails to welcome the stranger with respect and instead seeks to humiliate him, forcing him into infamous submission.” [Machine translation, no English translation on the website]
A shift in emphasis is already a change in the rudder regarding this one.
I guess now the Pontifical Biblical Commission needs to study Romans Chapter 1 with particular attention to verses 24 – 32. It might take some effort to make this about mistreatment of immigrants.
The Pontifical Biblical Commission has embarrassed itself and weakened its prestige and standing among serious biblical scholars in every denomination.
As pointed out above, there is no new news from the PBC since this 2019 publication, Che Cosa E’ L’Uomo?
In fact, it was only 4 days after its publication when the Secretary of the CDF, Archbishop Giacomo Morandi, gave a clarifying interview to Vatican News.
In fact, Dr. Mary Healy, an actual member of the PBC was interviewed by Catholic Answers expressing much nuance, and answers very compatible with the audience of Catholic Answers.
It seems that the fake news Tweet here derives more from a private interpretation by Fr. James Martin, SJ. The actual publication by the PBC does not actually say “this, not that” sort of thing.
My “spidey-sense” was tingling here, because if we think about the entire corpus of Sacred Scripture, and how many definitive and exclusive interpretations the Magisterium has injected onto any given passage, these are actually vanishingly small. If the PBC publishes a reflection on one of these pericopes, then that can be taken into consideration at the appropriate level, but it is not my Sunday homily and it is not going to put words into my pastor’s mouth, nor yours.
