She reacted to the attacks on the Star of the Sea parish and Frs. Ill and Driscoll by the liberal priests in San Francisco.

She’s not happy.

Go see!  Spike her stats.

Sample:

What are these liberal priests so afraid of that they would do this?  This is ONE parish, with very poor attendance for its size, surrounded by all of them – some less than a mile away.  Why do they think their parishioners would be concerned about somebody else’s parish?   Might it have something to do with the disparaging remarks some pastors are making from their own pulpits about Star of the Sea and the Archbishop?  (Oh, yeah, we’ve heard all about that, St. Ignatius).  Again, they are not being told they must do what Fr. Illo and Fr. Driscoll are doing at Star of the Sea, so where’s the beef?  (Yes, I’m a child of the ‘80s) Oooh! Oooh! Oooh! (…and the ‘70s) I know the answer!  Pick me!  Pick me!  The liberals are TERRIFIED that this conservative Catholicism thing might actually catch on.  The writing has been on the wall for a while and they know it. There are tons of young, up and coming, conservative, faithful priests who are spiritually attractive to the faithful, and they are sucking people into their world just by being faithful.  They’re not disparaging the parish down the street, nor will they.   They are sowing seeds of love and Truth.  The worst part about this for the Liberals?  They’ve seen it working.  Attendance is on the rise.  People are showing overwhelming support for this parish.   Star of the Sea has some new life!

Here is a long investigative report, with mentions of Father Fessio, founder of Ignatius Press:

Attacks on San Francisco Priest Aim to Test Abp. Cordileone, by Jim Graves, Catholic World Report staff.

    God bless her!

The liberals are so tolerant of other priests exercising their legitimate options, aren’t they?

  3. tzard says:

She said the truth so clearly about this one issue – what else will she choose to say?

I’ve added her to my RSS feed reader. Looks like a good solid one to follow. I hope she continues.

The Ann Barnhardt of home schooling moms!

I’m so glad to see another Catholic who’s not willing to let the left-wing media get away with sloppy, uneducated, biased, “reporting” on the Catholic Church and Her teachings, and has created a forum from which to speak the truth and stiffen the spines of fellow Catholics. God bless her!

  6. Paulo says:

I lent my support. And pledge to continue supporting! ¡Hagan lío!

It has been my experience as well that even among the clergy that are not necessarily liberal but rather just careerist, the great fear is of traditional Catholicism itself. It is a fear that it will compete with the new Church that has been set up and that they have been charged to administer. This is why the traditional Mass and practices if permitted at all must only be permitted in remote and isolated locations and at inconvenient times. They will never permit it to have equal standing side by side with the new and they will never EVER let it in the diocesan schools. These facts to me when dealing with bishop and priest have been very telling as to the true source of the animosity. They see it as a threat. Some choose to manage the threat. The more moderate ones do. The more liberal ones just seek to crush it.

Gotta love a woman who quotes Arnold Horshack.

  11. Skeinster says:

    Good one, Father.
The young 30-ish singles and families that find our EF parish? Awed, hungry and FURIOUS that
their patrimony was stolen from them for so many years. I see it over and over.

  12. SanSan says:

Love Mad Mom…..I’m sending this article to some of my local priest who were a part of this upsetting shameful meeting.

  13. rodin says:

Just have to cheer on the Mad Mom and pray for an army of those. Thank you, father, for the reference.

  14. RobS says:

I really, really, really hope that’s not how the new bishop of San Diego thinks. Get ready for another contraction of SoCal Catholicism if so.
