Very diplomatic farewell, Father Z.
Indeed. I liken his retirement to that of Cardinal Martini’s. Hopefully, he will keep a lower profile than Martini has done. May he have a long and quiet retirement.
Perhaps now our ecumenical work can truly begin.

Konferenz in Delsberg gekommen.

Basically, Bishop Koch is demanding to see Muslims have the freedom to construct and use minarets in Switzerland, though he does also request freedom of religion for Catholics who are so very persecuted in many Islamic countries.
I know something about how Switzerland came to be the way it is, but not enough to comment on this. Anyway, the good bishop is going to Christian Unity, not Interreligious Dialogue.
Ouch! Sounds like we have a few popes right here! ;-)

All eyes now on the Congregation for Clergy and Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life… Come on Holy Father you’re on a roll, don’t stop now!
He was nicknamed “Kasper the Unfriendly Geist” by some Byzantine Catholics in reference to his oppostion to a Ukrainian Catholic patriarchate so as not to “hurt” relations with the Russian Orthodox Church.
Deep Six, for both.. ;)
