General Chapter of the SSPX is underway. PRAY!

The General Chapter of the SSPX is underway in Ecône, Switzerland.

I warmly request everyone to PRAY for the men as they meet, asking the Holy Spirit to bend what is rigid and warm what is cold.

Also, I noted with great interest that the new Vice President of the Pontifical Commission “Ecclesia Dei“, His Excellency Most Rev. Augustine DiNoia, OP, has asked his fellow Dominicans to pray the Litany of Dominican Saints for the reconciliation of the SSPX.  HERE.

One of the things I pray for is that, when the reconciliation comes (and I think it will), few if any of the SSPX priests will separate themselves and refuse to be reconciled.

I completed the novena to the Holy Spirit yesterday that you mentioned previously and will continue to keep the reconciliation between the SSPX and the Holy Father in my daily rosary intentions.

  2. Supertradmum says:

Just finished this litany. Thank you, Father, and finished novena (second) yesterday. I hope and I pray.

  3. Legisperitus says:

These setbacks give a good opportunity for more prayers!

  4. Bryan Boyle says:

On the daily rosary list, combining it with all other rosaries being said throughout the world.

  5. RichR says:

This is one of those rare instances where you are “rooting” for both sides (Rome and the SSPX).

What an inoculation for the Church it would be….

So what exactly are they deciding at this General Chapter? I thought Bishop Fellay had already rejected the latest Preamble that Cardinal Levada had given him?

  7. mvhcpa says:

As usual, I started then novena and made it through five or six days before skipping–I hope the Holy Spirit will accept as a lesser offering my five-ena!

The was mentioned in SSPX chapels Sunday. Last week they were on retreate. The novena has been said after every Mass at the chapels. An interesting thing, not one person leaves the chapel until the novena is concluded. Don’t see much novena action in your typical NO parish, do you?

  9. Mike says:

Well, we have a number of ladies who say the Rosary after each weekday NO Mass. The practice of no thanksgiving after Mass is certainly troubling. We should thank the Lord we know better, and strive to practice this habit of piety better each day!

Novenas are not in short supply in any Catholic parish I’ve ever been in. Publicized public novenas, not so much; but of course, we just had the US-wide, all-parish fourteena novena of the Fortnight for Freedom.

As usual, I started the novena and made it through five or six days before forgetting a night–I hope the Holy Spirit will accept as a lesser offering my five-ena!

Offered the Litany (which was uncharacteristically difficult, for some reason). Also am offering my lousy day. FWIW.

  13. John 6:54 says:

I hope your right Fr. Z. I hope your right

  14. Bea says:

Let’s pray for the FSSP also.
They’re also having their chapter meeting in Denton, Nebraska during these days.

  15. AnAmericanMother says:

Sigh . . . I am so distractible! (I’m glad I’m not the only one). Even if I didn’t manage to complete the Novena, at least I added them to my Rosary (which I usually do manage to remember . . . but not always).
Continuing to pray. We need these good men.

    Praying.
