    Of course the Chinese got it right. Travel the world and visit Chinese temples, Buddhist temples, Shinto temples, mosques and Eastern Churches etc, and everywhere you will see men in robes facing an altar or qibla with the people and chanting prayers. Far from being a strange obsession of traditional Catholics, ad orientem is the way humanity worships, the instinctive way we approach the numinous. Only Protestants (with very few exceptions) and NO clerics (again with very few exceptions) fail to get it right.
