For what it’s worth

We are waiting for the Pontifical Commission "Ecclesia Dei" to issue some clarifications about Summorum Pontificum.

This is from today’s Bolletino:

AUDIENCES

VATICAN CITY, NOV 15, 2007 (VIS) – The Holy Father today received in separate audiences:

 – Cardinal Dario Castrillon Hoyos, president of the Pontifical Commission "Ecclesia Dei."

etc.

May I suggest that you make it a point to pray for a good outcome for these guidelines and clarifications?

There will be pressure and opposition from different interested parties, bet on it.

The people involved with this will need support of prayer.

Perhaps a decade of your daily rosary.

Perhaps a small gesture of fasting or almsgiving each day until they are issued.

Perhaps some other penitential practice or prayers.

    Father,

You’ve got it. This Friday’s meat refrain and the next three Rosaries will be offered for the Holy Father, Cardinal Hoyos, and Monsignor Perl respectively.

  2. danphunter1 says:

    Yes Indeed Father,
Sext and Compline for the next week will be offered for Ecclesia Dei and its clarification of Summorum Pontificum.
    God bless all priests.

  3. Please also remember Mons. Mario Marini, adjunct secretary of the Commission.

  4. Mark says:

There are pictures on fotographia felici.

  5. Maria says:

Thank you for the reminder, Father. Any worries about or during my oral exam today, and the Rosary this evening (+subsequently if I remember) will be offered up.

  6. Tom S. says:

Good suggestion, Father. I will do two decades a day until we hear the outcome.

  7. MJ Ryan says:

I will also say an extra two decades of the rosary until it is released.

And I will continue to say the two extra decades through the Advent season for all to accept summorum Pontificum.

  8. Matt Q says:

This is wonderful, all of you. Proof aesthetical virtue and practice is still alive in the Church. God bless each of you in your practice of charity. My prayers will be added as well, especially in the Mass. We need a most well-rounded and enforceable Clarification on the Extraordinary Tridentine Mass. This is one of the greatest retrofits to the Church in forty years. This is most direly needed.

    God Bless.

  9. Paul Murnane says:

Thank you for posting this, Father. I will offer up a decade per day at least until the new guidelines are issued. I will also begin to offer another decade per day for a return to sacred music in response to your more recent post on that topic.

Save the Liturgy, Save the World.

  10. Sid Cundiff says:

Prayers are indeed in order and badly needed. We should pray as if the very Devil himself is trying to water down Summorum Pontificum. He may be!

  11. ljf says:

The devil is always at work…look at the Diocese of Gaylord–still no Public Latin Mass, yet
a very competent holy priest, trained altar servers and even a choir. The Pope has those who
no matter what he writes, no matter what he requests will always have a bishop somewhere-probably
in America that refuses to obey the spirit of what the Pope intends. We must always keep the Pope
    in our prayers –everyday
