    Where?

St Philip Neri is a favourite saint-friend of mine. This is he. But, its not in the Chiesa Nuovo — the “new church” that St Philip built 500 years ago but its not far from there(where is tomb is to seen). This church is a smaller corner church in the area where many of these photographs have been taken. The Campo di Fiori is a short walk away and this entire neighborhood is rich with stuff — beautiful churches and chapels and food, flowers, wares, wandering streets, fantastically old architecture. This is the church of San Girolamo. I’ve been inside a couple of times and I admit I had to look up the name as my memory never recorded it well as I was there to actually see this statue and the chapel honoring St Philip. The church has restricted hours and I visited both times on a Sunday morning.

    Thank You ThePapalCount.

Thank you, PapalCount, appreciate the information very much. The glorious statue of St Philip was crafted by sculptor Pierre Le Gros. How sad we no longer have men who are master sculptors.
