I am right now at Our Lady of the Rosary in Blackfen near London, the guest of the highly esteemed Fr. Finigan, of The Hermeneutic of Continuity.
Later today there will be a solemn Mass according to the 1962 Missale Romanum. There will be a good gathering of clergy for the event and I will preach.
Today everything changes.
Alleluia.
Thank you, Lord.
Will you be celebrating that Solemn Mass, Father?
(seething with barely contained jealousy)…I’m so happy to hear this! God bless, Fr. Philip, OP ;-)
On the eve of the 14th of September St John Cantius Parish in Chicago (www.cantius.org) has offered the Traditional Latin Mass, a candlelight Rosary Procession through the streets of Chicago, and all-night adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament. The Canons Regular of St. John Cantius (www.societycantius.org) have done this to offer thanks to almighty God for his abundant blessings and to beseech the Blessed Mother of God to intercede for the Church. May Pope Benedict XVI’s implementation of SUMMORUM PONTIFICUM be accomplished under Mary’s guidance.
Will somebody be videotaping this Mass? :-0
Once again, and after over forty years, heaven on earth. Deo Gratias
Today is a historic day and to prove it Wikipedia has the Summorum Pontificum going into effect as a historical important event!
Today is an epoch-making day in liturgical history. Let us pray, to use Fr. Z’s expression, that “everything changes” for God’s glory.
ALL: I am not the celebrant for today’s Mass. I am preaching. All coming up in a little over an hour!
Today everything changes.
Yes! Yes!
Te Deum laudámus:
te Dóminum confitémur.
Te ætérnum Patrem,
omnis terra venerátur.
Tibi omnes ángeli,
tibi cæli
et univérsæ potestátes:
tibi chérubim et séraphim
incessábili voce proclámant:
Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus,
Dóminus Deus Sábaoth.
Pleni sunt cæli et terra
maiestátis glóriæ tuæ.
Te gloriósus
apostolòrum chorus,
te prophetárum
laudábilis númerus,
te mártyrum candidátus
laudat exércitus.
Te per orbem terrárum
sancta confitétur Ecclésia,
Patrem imménsæ maiestátis;
venerándum tuum verum
et únicum FÃlium;
Sanctum quoque
Paráclitum SpÃritum.
Tu rex glóriæ, Christe.
Tu Patris sempitérnus es Filius.
Tu, ad liberándum susceptúrus hóminem,
non horrúisti Virginis úterum.
Tu, devÃcto mortis acúleo,
aperuÃsti credéntibus regna cælórum.
Tu ad déxteram Dei sedes,
in glória Patris.
Iudex créderis esse ventúrus.
Te ergo quǽsumus,
tuis fámulis súbveni,
quos pretióso sánguine redemÃsti.
Ætérna fac cum sanctis tuis
in glória numerári.
Salvum fac pópulum tuum, Dómine,
et bénedic hereditáti tuæ.
Et rege eos, et extólle illos
usque in ætérnum.
Per sÃngulos dies benedÃcimus te;
et laudámus nomen tuum
in sǽculum, et in sǽculum sǽculi.
Dignáre, Dómine,
die isto sine peccáto nos custodÃre.
Miserére nostri, Dómine, miserére nostri.
Fiat misericórdia tua,
Dómine, super nos,
quemádmodum sperávimus in te.
In te, Dómine, sperávi:
non confúndar in ætérnum.
Dear Father,
Please pray for us all. I shall pray for you.
As the Church goes so goes the world.
God bless you
kat, Thanks for the heads up. Others can see it, in the English version, at

I have done a screen capture to record it.
Welcome to the UK. Good to know you’re here, even though I can’t make it to Blackfen.
Yay!!! Happy Feast of the Cross! Happy Motu Day!
God bless you all, I am happy for you and for the Church. Long life to Pope Benedict the Magnificent!
But everthing doesn’t change for many, perhaps most of us…
Maybe today it finally seems possible for everything to change? Trying to always be able to give a reason for my hope ;o)
(Save the Liturgy, Save the World)
Great sermon. And the Mass was “to die for”…
;-)
I’m tempted to say that I was the woman in a mantilla, but that doesn’t help much!
Welcome to Blackfen anyway!
Today, the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the wood of the Holy Cross once again is drivent into the heart of evil. The Cross is the bane of death.
Fr. Z. Please put the homily in your next podcaZt
God Bless
Derik Castillo: Fr. Z. Please put the homily in your next podcaZt
I agree. It would be great to hear Fr. Z’s homily in the next podcast. Anthony
