I know this is haha hurf durf and all . . . But seriously: Does anyone else, when enduring liturgical abuse, imagine the Darth Vader theme coming on in the background, a wall of the sanctuary exploding, and tons of storm troopers pouring in, blasters a-blazing?
I don’t know. I-I just think that would be great.

I can’t believe you only just found this now, Fr. Z. That has been the background on my kids’ computer for ages now. So much so that my 4yo daughter, who has never actually been exposed to the real, unadulterated “Hello Kitty” chirps, “Wook! Dath Kitty!” whenever we happen to pass Sanrio in the mall…
I actually follow Creer en Mexico since its inception, but do not frequently stop to read the comments. I have done it now. This poor Adrizza… ¿De dónde sale?
It reminds me of when Marge Simpson started to play Bart’s computer game, in which he was the Evil Knight or some such thing. She thought his dungeon lair was too gruesome, with all the severed limbs all over the place, and so she redecorated it with the Hello Kitty expansion pack.
Hey there Sanrio Fan! SanrioTown and Dream Studio have something new for everybody who’s looking forward to the public launch of Hello Kitty Online, Sanrio’s very own MMORPG starring your favorite kitty and her friends: the Hello Kitty Online trailer contest! I already take part in many forums and blogs. It looks to me that Felipe has too much on his plate and does not post that frequently at Creer en Mexico…
I like that almost as much as I like the squirrel.
Comment by Kradcliffe — 5 May 2008 @ 11:46 amPlease tell me this had nothing to do with some liturgical function in western Europe.
Comment by RichR — 5 May 2008 @ 11:48 amIs it me or is the stole the improper color for the season?
Comment by KK — 5 May 2008 @ 11:52 amI’m all for rose vestments on Laetare or Gaudete Sunday, but this is a bit much.
Comment by TNCath — 5 May 2008 @ 11:57 amp.s. I think he’s looking for the squirrel. Is he planning to kill the squirrel and then celebrate a funeral Mass?
Comment by KK — 5 May 2008 @ 12:04 pmThe power of the Liberals these days—to be PC, they’ve gone to the extent of having “GAY VADER”!

Comment by RichR — 5 May 2008 @ 1:03 pm“Just guess who was the latest to come out of the closet!”
Embajador,
Adrizza, posting at Creer en Mexico, would rejoice at this latest disclosure. She likes the kind who come out of the closet.
JaJaJaJa (laughing in Spanish)
Comment by Martha — 5 May 2008 @ 1:10 pmHow ever would one cough up a furball with that helmet on?
Comment by Mark Jacobson — 5 May 2008 @ 1:16 pmEven Darth Vader liked dressing up for Halloween. But believe me, no one laughed at him.
Comment by Goofy — 5 May 2008 @ 1:20 pmFr. Z, I think it is immoral for you to post this photo without attribution. The Jesuits who put this on their vocations webpage deserve a link.
Comment by Boko — 5 May 2008 @ 1:27 pmAwwww, it’s cuuute.
Comment by RC — 5 May 2008 @ 1:30 pmDarth Kitty, Pastel Lord of the Sith.

Comment by RichR — 5 May 2008 @ 5:26 pmI googled “Darth Vader Hello Kitty” to find out more about that photo. It turns out that that photo is a photoshop of an all-white Darth Vader costume.
Comment by Will in Houston — 5 May 2008 @ 8:44 pmEmbajador,
“¿De dónde sale?” Se me parece que de Mexico.
Why don’t you join in? Not enough people speak up.

Comment by Jason — 6 May 2008 @ 2:38 amBe not fooled by shoddy imitations. Do the red; say the black—or else face the wrath of Darth Celebrandi.

Comment by embajador — 6 May 2008 @ 6:26 amDarth Vader was never the same after the “spirit of the Second Imperial Council” took hold of the Death Star.
Comment by jarhead462 — 6 May 2008 @ 7:09 amPastel is the new black.
Comment by Art — 6 May 2008 @ 7:22 amThis is a classic. Darth Vader scenes dubbed with James Earl Jones lines from other movies. Pure genius.
