Need a TLM Ordo for 2009?

CATEGORY: SESSIUNCULA — Fr. John Zuhlsdorf @ 12:32 pm

There is an Ordo for the older, traditional liturgy of the Roman Rite available online and in book form through Rinascimento Sacro.

The Ordo Missae celebrandae et divini Officii persolvendi secundum antiquam vel extraordinariam ritus romani formam for 2009 looks to be pretty nice.  The book form is a bit spendy, but the download is handy.

What we really need is for the Holy See to put out an Ordo for the TLM and older Office!

    Hear that Ecclesia Dei?

    1. I’m not sure I really WANT the Vatican to put out an Ordo just yet. The FSSP Ordo is the faithful standard; I imagine there would be a lot of tomfoolery in an Ordo is it was released by EC right now.

In the meantime, it’s good to see the Fraternity has some friendly competition. It’s always good to double and triple source the calendar, especially in a year like 2008 when the Saint Joseph’s Day Debacle is still in the minds of many.

    2. ED, not EC.

    3. In terms of the old Office, I wonder if the Baronius Press Breviary (when it comes out)will possibly come out with a Ordo also? Does anyone here know anything like that?

    4. This particular Ordo is the Universal Ordo. The author (a young man from Livorno, Italy) presented it to Card. Castrillón to see if the ED Commission would endorse it as the official Universal Ordo.

This Ordo is completely in Latin and it deals also with the Rubrics for the Divine Office for the year 2009. It has very usuful charts and reminders of the Rubrics of 1962 that are usually “forgotten.”
