Wow-that’s a beautiful mitre!!!! The angels on the bottom remind me of the ones on the Ark of the Covenant.

  2. paw prints says:

Oops-that would miter not mitre. :)

  3. Ottaviani says:

The English is “mitre” – the Americanised way is “miter”

  4. EDG says:

Almost looks like Our Lady of Guadalupe – Patroness of the Americas, of course, but a Virgin who is revered everywhere. I once heard an old Russian (Orthodox) lady refer to her as the “Guadalupskaya”! In other words, she Slavicized the word.

  5. Now that’s more like it. Much better then some of the matching mitre/vestment combos he’s had to wear lately.

    Beautiful detail.

  6. Diane says:

Beautiful mitre. Much, much more splendid than that tie-dyed looking thing he got stuck with….where was that? You know, the powder blue and sunshine yellow chasuble and matching mitre. Oy vey!

  7. Diane says:

Oops! I made the “mitre” mistake too. It’s not woodwork, it’s a hat! That is, “miter”.
