Good Morning!
That first trip to the chapel was a little chilly.

“He [Satan] will set up a counter-Church which will be the ape of the Church because, he the devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the anti-Christ that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ. In desperate need for God, whom he nevertheless refuses to adore, modern man in his loneliness and frustration will hunger more and more for membership in a community that will give him enlargement of purpose, but at the cost of losing himself in some vague collectivity.”
“Who is going to save our Church? Not our bishops, not our priests and religious. It is up to you, the people. You have the minds, the eyes, and the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that your priests act like priests, your bishops act like bishops.”

"But if, in any layman who is indeed imbued with literature, ignorance of the Latin language, which we can truly call the 'catholic' language, indicates a certain sluggishness in his love toward the Church, how much more fitting it is that each and every cleric should be adequately practiced and skilled in that language!" - Pius XI
"Let us realize that this remark of Cicero (Brutus 37, 140) can be in a certain way referred to [young lay people]: 'It is not so much a matter of distinction to know Latin as it is disgraceful not to know it.'" - St. John Paul II
Grant unto thy Church, we beseech Thee, O merciful God, that She, being gathered together by the Holy Ghost, may be in no wise troubled by attack from her foes. O God, who by sin art offended and by penance pacified, mercifully regard the prayers of Thy people making supplication unto Thee, and turn away the scourges of Thine anger which we deserve for our sins. Almighty and Everlasting God, in whose Hand are the power and the government of every realm: look down upon and help the Christian people that the heathen nations who trust in the fierceness of their own might may be crushed by the power of thine Arm. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. R. Amen.

Darn, that global warming…
Time to throw another box of copies of OCP’s “Bustin’ Bread” into the furnace . . .
It’s going to be well into the 70s here all week. (Maybe I’ll give the dog a bath.) Wish we could have a little of your winter, Father.
Romulus: You wouldn’t want to give the dog a bath here today.
It’s been subzero in North Dakota -30 some below with wind chills. The dog would blow away up here.
I suppose with the proper gear it is possible to do that trip.
I have a confession to make. It’s dark, cold and snowing up here in Edmonton, AB (Alberta, not Alabama), but on Sunday we leave for a ten day trip to Maui. First trip to Hawaii.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Paul
We’re currently enjoying/suffering more snow in a day than we’ve experienced in some 40 years. And sure enough … already we’re being told it’s global warming.
Here in north Florida it was a chilly 64 when I got up this morning and it’s supposed to get up to 77! But the weatherman did say it’s about 20 degrees above the average temperature for this time of year.
We are having an incredible ammount of snow here in E. Washington. Around 24inches in 24 hours. I am stuck at my school in the dorms. The roads are just too deep to drive through unless you have a suburban assult vehicle, w/ 4wheel drive.
A chilly 79 degrees this morning, had to turn the air conditioner down so I could walk around the house without having to don a robe…
Seriously… yes, you will be told that it is global warming. The latest “party line” is that this weather is a problem because the unusual cold temperatures are masking the actual warming that’s taking place and causing people to think that it is actually cooling. Only in the mind of a progressive could cooling actually be warming. Black is white… we are winning the war in Oceania!
… or is it Eastasia where we are winning the war? In all the excitement I’ve forgotten.
At the 2000-2500 foot level in Grass Valley, CA.,we had almost constant snow for two days. The lighted Christmas deer in my yard had fallen over and was buried. My grandson and I went out to right him and I sank over my boot tops. We have almost a foot of snow. Today all is ice and I dared not go down the stairs to feed the birds. My towhees, juncos, scrub and stellar jays, acorn woodpeckers and assorted finches are satisfied with my throwing black oil sunflower seeds and hulled peanuts from the deck. They’d better eat quickly before the new expected snow arrives later today and buries the chow. Yup! Global warming all right. A small arbor beside my front porch outdoors has statues of St. Joseph with the Child Jesus and Our Lady of Fatima. They were covered with snow. I have them lighted at night for the Christmas season and had to uncover them and the flood light.
Huh, and here I was cycling home from work in what feels like 1°C (apparently it’s actually 5°C) and thinking it was pretty chilly and that I was glad I had wrapped up warm!
Chironomo, the party line is that global warming causes greater fluctuations in high vs. low temperatures. of course global cooling would do that too. or even global staying-the-same!

David A, that was excellent!!! ROTFL!!!!
It’s 65 here in Atlanta right now. Last week the highs were in the 40s. I’ve lived here for 12 years and I’ve still not gotten used to these weather changes.
Paul:
Start saving your pennies for your second trip. Nobody ever goes to Hawaii once!
Brrr, so brutally cold here. I think we will have a high of 79 degrees. Ha Ha.
Do you ride a snow-mobile at the farm?
How far is it from the house to the chapel?
-14 degrees Fahrenheit, eh? That IS a bit chilly.
