Nice, how about finding we, the faithful with some re-runs of Archbishop Sheen?
dubb,
There are video clips of Archbishop Sheen on YouTube, and a whole website devoted to him, with video and audio available for sale…

Vin Scully is a member of our parish and a fine gentlemen.
No one calls a game better!
Sieber: Excellent! Greet him for me! He is the best.
Father, John Smoltz may have pitched his last game on Thursday night. The Yankees scored 8 runs off him, and the Red Sox sent him to the minors—he is considering his options.
A clutch pitcher, a class act, and a devout Christian, he first showed the world his stuff in Game Seven of ’91.
Childermass: What a career!
I recall the day after a Twins WS championship, Paul Harvey announced, “And the Minnesota Twins are the world champions of indoor baseball. Page 2.”
I watched most of Game 6 that was on earlier. I’ll never forget Jack Buck’s call on Puckett’s home run…”And we’ll see you tomorrow night!” Not many of the great old radio voices left.
Thanks for the memories Fr. Z. I was 9 when the Twins won that game, but I still remember my brothers jumping up and down and screaming when they won. We still love Black Jack around here. He helps anounce the games sometimes, and what I love about him is he still really loves the game. You can tell by the way he calls it. Sniff, poor Twins lost today… but there is always hope…
I was at Game 1 and Game 7 of the ’91 series. Absolutely amazing. No words to describe the euphoria after we won it. One bright memory during a dark period in my life.
Ever notice that baseball is the only professional sport without a clock?
‘Real’ sportscasters like Vin Scully and Jack Buck are few and far between these days-but they were THE BEST!
Sieber-does Vin Scully still do broadcasts? How lucky you are to have him as a fellow parishioner!
I was an avid thirteen-year old Braves fan in 1991, and I remember watching every game of that Series with my dad. Even though the Twins won the Series, I knew I was watching something special and consider that one of the best Series of all time. One thing that I have never gotten over, however, was Lonnie Smith’s baserunning blunder in the top of the eighth in game seven. His failure to watch the third base coach waving him on– something that everyone learns in Little League– cost Atlanta the game and the Series. Smith deserves to enter the annals of Goatdom with Buckner and others.
Irishgirl,
Indeed, Vin is still calling Dodger games via simulcast…radio & T.V. He’s been doing it since the early 50s. The man is 81, but could fool anybody if he claimed to be 60.
