Reacting to article titles

At Crisis there are three article titles that caught my eye and garnered an instant reaction before I read them.

Don’t get into the bad habit (that some of you readers here do have) of reacting to titles without reading the posts.  So, do as I say, not as I do.   o{]:¬)

In any event the three titles (which the articles are also worth reading)

How Great was John Paul II? by Eric Sammons

The War Has Only Just Begun by Austen Ruse

Will the Bishops Stand Up to Biden? by Crisis editors

To which I respond…

How great was John Paul II?  Yes, truly a great and profoundly influential figure in the Church and on the world.  Usually we need the perspective of many decades, even centuries to recognize this.  However, the confirmation of his greatness can be found in the fact that since about 2013 there has been a systematic program to obscure, erode and dismantle John Paul’s Magisterium.   I am reminded of how the Left (Dems, homosexualists, Communists and other totalitarians) obscure by silence about truth, erode by twisting words and laws out of recognition, and dismantle by trying to disarm citizens and marginalize opponents.

The War Has Only Just Begun?  Truer words have not been written.  The fact is that the war has been going on for a long time.  Think Dewey, Gramsci, et al.  And in the Church, any number of noxious influences from Tyrell onward.  We are witnessing the fruits of their evil seed today.

Will the bishops stand up to Biden?

When have they stood up to anything in the last few decades?  Individuals, yes.  But the question is about the conference.

At this point on is tempted to introduce a perennial query about collective nouns for bishops.

Seriously, do read articles.

And, viz that final title, I don’t think they are going to have to even be tempted to grovel before Biden.  The election isn’t over.

Initial thought. Why would they have any problem with Biden at all. He seems right in line with their thinking and they raised not a hair about his election. They had no concerns. I’ve not heard an outcry over full-term abortion, which the Democrats now bring to us, as well as other evils and civic monstrosities. As long as I live I’ll never cognitively reconcile Bishops endorsing (by their silence) full-term abortion. How can that be.
All during this diabolical election cycle I’ve imagined, what would we have if the Bishops of the church supported Catholic teaching, as well as the most pro-life president we have ever had, President Donald J. Trump. But they did not. Not at all.

  2. Speaking of Bishops and Biden

Judie Brown is some straight talker. Her comments are absolutely devoid of equivocation. There is no possibility of rebutting this kind of truth. God bless her.

Austen Ruse’s statement of truth that “The War Has Only Just Begun”, brings to mind a line from Bob Dylan’s recent hit single (eighteen minutes long!), ‘Murder Most Foul’, ostensibly about the assassination of JFK, which he describes as being the time in which ‘the age of the Antichrist has just only begun’. I think that the juxtaposition in the song of the standard pop music phrase ‘only just begun’ to ‘just only begun’ provides a particular emphasis.

I’m reading a series of interviews currently by Father Martin (first name Malachi!) and they are sobering. He was predicting current events, and their causes, thirty years ago. May the Lord God have mercy on us all.

“The War Has Only Just Begun by Austen Ruse”

“In a recent column for The Week, Mr. Linker compares Trump to—get this—Satan.”

A brief pause from this Crisis article. Speaking of Satan, the toxic Austen Ivereigh and Bishop Stika are spending their time attacking a faithful Catholic, as evidenced in this tweet by another faithful Catholic:

“The more enemies, the more honor.” @BishopStika retweeting @austeni likening @TaylorRMarshall to Satan.

Good point, avoid donating to the CCHD. Back to the Austin Ruse article.

“Trump appointed three originalists to the Supreme Court. Trump ended the dangerous Obama deal with Iran and the Paris Climate Accords. He renegotiated trade deals that deeply harmed the working man. Trump destroyed the territorial ISIS caliphate. He delivered the lowest unemployment in half a century. He delivered the lowest unemployment for blacks, women, and Hispanics in history. He is the first President in recent memory who has not taken us into war.”

Good article by Austen Ruse, Crisis Mag is on a roll lately.

Here’s several more updates about the international situation.

“Six months having elapsed, the U.S. withdrawal took effect on November 22, 2020, and the United States is no longer a State Party to the Treaty on Open Skies.”

SecState Pompeo: “America is more secure because of it, as Russia remains in non-compliance with its obligations.”

[SG here: Open Skies involves reconnaissance overflights for monitoring purposes and dates back to the Cold War. To say the Rooskies are in non-compliance is an understatement. Furthermore, the Putin regime routinely dispatches nuclear bombers to violate the national airspace of numerous countries.]

“On October 20, 2018, President Trump announced that the United States would exit the INF Treaty in response to Russia’s longstanding violation of its obligations under the Treaty. On December 4, 2018, Secretary Pompeo announced that Russia was in material breach of the INF Treaty, and that the United States would suspend its obligations in 60 days should Russia not return to full and verifiable compliance. This finding was fully supported by NATO Allies.”

The United States has an extra layer of defense against incoming intercontinental ballistic missiles after the U.S. Navy made history with its first successful downing of an ICBM in space from a warship during a test this week.

In the test, a missile was fired from the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site on Kwajalein Atoll across the Pacific Ocean northeast of Hawaii.

The ship fired a Standard Missile-3 Block IIA missile and destroyed the target in the mid-course phase in space, the MDA said.

    Biden did NOT win.

Ever notice how the demons howl loudest right before they are defeated? Remember the otherworldly howling in the halls outside the chamber as Kavanaugh was confirmed?

Ive grown to look forward to it as confirmation that the battle is almost won, and it gives me the boost I need to keep on charging to the finish line.

My husband makes a good point: Kamala hasn’t resigned her Senate seat, which means they know they have lost.

We’re in the thick of it, but do not be discouraged. Double down on your prayers and marches and let the corporeal and incorporeal devils know we are NOT DETERRED. We will not have our nation stolen from us.
