Marevel Comics fictional “Wakanda!”. Better yet, Catholic Africa “Malawi!”

I wanted to add soooo many comments to this video.  I don’t harmonize with every single point, but … that’s NOT the POINT, as is especially explained toward the end.  We need unity.

This video bring in a dimension of the context of FS (and, truth be told document before FS).  The dimension is a treaty of African, Caribbean and Pacific nations.

Watch this.  JUST.. do it. You will understand why the cry “Malawi!”

Listen to the whole thing.

Don’t KNEE JERK react the to title.  Knuckle-head stuff will be deleted from the queue.  Agree or disagree.  Fine.  However, I think this provides a piece of the puzzle that is underestimated.

I am tempted to start a fund campaign for vestments for the Archbishop in Malawi.

What I find interesting is that these Bishops are willing to stand up for what they believe, whereas those in the USA don’t seem to be.

I guess I should have added, as an economist, I am unpleasantly surprised that, though I probably should not be, that the EU is trying to use the desire of poor countries to trade with them to impose their own self-destructive social policies on poor countries. Father Hunwicke at least once has said of this “how arrogant”, assuming I am remembering correctly.
But this is also what the good old USA does.

Thank you! – I had missed this, and certainly had not been paying attention to the New Partnership Agreement (NPA) with the EU and the Organization of Africa, Caribbean and Pacific States (OAOCPS). A bit of quick searching found someone saying 35 of the 79 ACP states had refused to sign in it November 2023, which I hope is hopeful.

This also spurred me to catch up with John-Henry Westen’s recent interviews with Archbishop Philip Anyolo of Nairobi, Kenya, and two of his priests and with Archbishop Isaac Amani of the Archdiocese of Arusha, Tanzania.

The link that is made between Fiducia Supplicans and the EU-ACP treaty is quite sinister. It may very well be true. Things are going to get worse before they get better. Heaven help us, heaven wake us up, heaven strengthen us!

Interesting video. Much food for thought. I found the call for unity at the end compelling. I was particularly struck by the comment of one of the African bishops that one of the difficulties in FS is there was no call to the people in these “irregular” unions to change in their lives.

And now I just encountered a report that “The USDA’s Sub-Working Group for the Memorandum on Advancing the Human Rights of [guess which five categories of] Persons Around the World identified three separate farm agencies that work internationally, according to a heavily redacted Oct. 18 memo” which “says it will incorporate ‘sexual orientation nondiscrimination protections into FAS [Foreign Agricultural Service] terms and conditions for grants and agreements and notices of funding opportunities (NOFOs) to international beneficiaries.'”
