These are matches, four games over two days. After a classical game comes rapid with blitz for tie breaks. Fabi and Levon are tied, and my guy Wesley (yay!) is now behind a game with Roy Robson. There is an elimination bracket too, but leave that for now.
In the women’s section, Krush crushed Nazi Paikidze and 14 year old Alice Lee beat “Begim”. I think Alice is, so far, perfect. Hostilities resume today at 14OO EST (1900 CET).
Yesterday something different happened. Things were halted for a tornado warning in St. Louis. The players went to shelters and the commentators just kept going with anecdotes.

A Catholic club on chess.com would be great. Everyone is playing chess now: had dinner with a client last night and we got to talking about chess, and several folks at the airport were playing on their phones.
A “Fr. Z Plays Chess” YouTube channel would be tons of fun and great for Catholic culture. Each episode you’d play a few games against a different cleric, enrich the world with your dry wit, and give glory to God!
