Hodie Romae sol ortus est hora septima et quartadecima minuta. Occidet autem hora duodevicesima et quadragesima minuta.
Campana “Ave Maria” pulsari debet hora undevicesima.
Hic dies festus est sancti Ioannis Henrici Newman atque sancti Abrahae Patriarchae Veteris Testamenti.
Eodem die colitur sanctus Ioannes Leonardi, cuius corpus in ecclesia Sanctae Mariae “in Campitelli” quiescit, haud procul ab eo loco ubi scribo.
Inside the church I highlighted the other day, with the arms of Benedict XV over the door. Santa Maria del Suffragio.

They don’t update things very often. This is on the door.

Last night’s repast with a priest friend from the USA in town briefly. He got the saffron risotto with ossobuco. (A little messed up when I took the shot.)

I, saltimbocca. It was a little overdone, IMHO. Veal that thin can be tricky.

Thank God for that. The Pope has perhaps learned a lesson from his last encounter with reporters. https://t.co/VS6Pa6aHJz

NEW: Cardinal Zen @CardJosephZen urges Catholics to join Bishop Schneider in making reparation for the recent LGBT Vatican Jubilee pilgrimage.
The event “seriously insulted the Catholic faith & the dignity of St. Peter’s Basilica, which seriously offended God,” he writes. pic.twitter.com/7FuLCBYfKD

In the first paragraph of Pope Leo’s Dilexi Vos, he, partially, quotes Revelation 3:8-9, where Jesus addresses the Church at Philadelphia. But with an ellipsis.
The Holy Father mentions that the early Christians had little power, but “others” had it.
Who?
“You have limited strength, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. 9 Behold, I will make those of the assembly of Satan who claim to be Jews and are not, but are lying, behold I will make them come and fall prostrate at your feet, and they will realize that I love you.”
Interesting. Will there be the usual objections about quoting Revelation 3:9?

The thing that I most dislike about it is that it’s “about” the poor — but not FOR the poor.
It’s pretty much “we christians are up here” and the poor are down there. It is a completely bourgeois concept of “poverty”.

It’s also the feast day of St. Louis Bertrand, apostle of the Americas!

Many have pondered over why the left is pushing the LGBTQ agenda so hard. I wonder if it’s an extension of the eugenics movement. I mean if you’re engaging in same sex relations you’re for sure not procreating. And, if you’re willing to sterilize yourself, so much the better. It saves the elites from having to do it to you chemically, or forcibly.
