A priest friend and I are now about to zip across the Commonwealth to West Virginia and the annual conference for priests held by the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology. We hope for clement weather and safe byways.
I’ll experiment with updating via my phone along the way. I did it the other day and it seems to have turned out well.

Inflatable, wacky, waving tube men might not help to sell cell phones but they’ll definitely get young people to worship God. Right? Right??!!
Or perhaps watching that thing is more edifying than the homily of the day.
Glad I spotted the Air Powered Dancer/ Inflatable Tube Man through the Picasso like tie-dye glass windows with Jesus standing on the water (or could that be a bouncer, not sure – looks like Peter’s sinking in the kids ball pit).
I would not have stumbled upon Christ without it!
How much does salvation cost? I’ll buy two!
Is there a group discount? Do they have a big enough tent for us all?

At least (from the look of the vestments), the air mascot is liturgically appropriate. The parish and that priest has to commit however. Need a purple one for Lent or it’s just half-hearted, therefore not in line with the spirit of the council.
Oh! So THAT’S the Spirit of Vatican II we always hear so much about!
That’s a long drive I’m familiar with. We used to have a second home in Deep Creek Lake, in the panhandle of Maryland, when we were dividing our primary time between Montgomery County Maryland and Gladwyne PA outside of Philadelphia. I’m glad your travels were safe and easy. My former vocations director is (recently) Bishop Emeritus of Wheeling-Charlestown. If you’re in Wheeling, as it seems, don’t miss the Oglebay Park glass museum (forget its true name, but that description will get you there). It’s a lovely town. Enjoy your visit.
I grew up at Deep Creek Lake! For years, there was a wonderful holy priest in nearby Thomas WV. He’s now in Charles Town WV, I believe.
Seeing those road signs brings it all back.
