I’m getting a little ahead of myself, since I don’t head for the airport until later. Hence, I may as well provide a little retrospective on yesterday.
We went downtown for some time at the club. Chicago is a great city for lovers of architecture: so much going on.

The Carbide and Carbon Building. A favorite.

Another favorite.
And of course….

UPDATE:
I am now getting pings from Delta saying that my flight out of here is DELAYED. I cannot express my irritation at the thought of getting stuck in Atlanta for the THIRD time in a month. As of now, because I built in a long layover, I am okay. BUT… this is how it starts.

DJT is a great president and builder, but the NY International architectural style is invasive to Chicago. Trunp tower is just one more glass curtain nullity. Fit for neurotic, anonymous 20th C. Mass Man, it looks out of place here. Chicago is stone, marble, brick and steel, quarried from the great Midwest soil: individual, earthy, real, sinful and prayerful. Flying in from the East you can see the distinct skyline; elegant stone and steel towers watching over an inland ocean reflect only what Sandburg and Royko vividly describe in its people — it’s the American city.
So it begins…
We will be in Chicago on Monday, as part of a train trip from Philadelphia to Seattle. Looking forward to seeing that great architecture again.
There is a great view of the Trump Tower from the L station at Adams and Wabash.
Have a good trip Father!
Did you get to not-so-new-now Comiskey Park for “Pope Hat Night”?
Disagree that Trump is a great president. He has betrayed America and he lied to us in MAGA! He is Israel First, not America First! Traitor is his name!!
