Today is the Feast of Our Lady of Ransom and of Our Lady of Walsingham.
The Catholic artist Daniel Mitsui has a beautiful version of Our Lady of Walsingham.
By the way… I love the Collect for Our Lady of Ransom.
Who wants to take a crack at it?
Deus, qui per gloriosissimam Filii tui Matrem ad liberandos Christifideles a potestate paganorum nova Ecclesiam tuam prole amplificare dignatus es: praesta quaesumus; ut, quam pie veneramur tanti operis institutricem, eius pariter meritis et intercessione a peccatis omnibus, et captivitate daemonis liberemur.
Say a prayer to Our Lady of Ransom for the protection of all who are in danger of their very lives from the “Religion of Peace”.

O God, Who, through the most glorious Mother of thy Son, deigned to enlarge Thy Church with new offspring to deliver the Christian faithful from the might of the pagans: grant, we beseech Thee, that we may be freed from all sins and from the demon’s captivity, by the merits and likewise by the intercession of Her, whom we lovingly venerate as the Foundress of so great a work.
i have a few prints by Mr. Mitsui and am very taken with them. there is also a delightful piece of his displayed by the aumbry at our Cathedral. he is likely the youngest person whose art is present there. He came out with a new piece today and i’m having a hard time resisting buying it, but i can’t justify yet more art in my wee little place.

Prayer
O God, through the glorious Mother of your Son
you were pleased to enlarge your Church with a new family,
and to free your faithful
from the power of the pagan peoples.
Grant, we ask of You,
that we who devoutly honor her
as the foundress of so great a work
may, through her merits and intercession,
be freed from every sin and from the bondage of the devil.
Through our Lord.
