At LifeSite there is a piece about a conference on “pastoral ministry” for an particular alphabet group and some 10 Italian bishops attended. It was held, surprise surprise, at the General Curia of the Jesuits. Where else?

Francesco Savino, bishop of Cassano allo Jonio and vice- resident of the Italian Bishops’ Conference for Southern Italy, called the Jubilee with “LGBT Catholics” an “epiphanic experience,” stating “I have been converted” and explaining that priests and theologians must be reshaped by real people and their stories.
Savino highlighted his accompaniment of “Laura,” a transgender-identifying man, saying his story changed his outlook, and he urged support for priests with same-sex attraction so they do not live their ministry in fear or judgment.
The theological framework for the meeting included the report of Group No. 9 of the Synod, which examined “emerging doctrinal, pastoral, and ethical questions.” [in other words “things which moral theology has already taught are sins and sacramental theology taught are impossible are now ’emerging questions’] According to that report, “sin, at its root, does not consist in the (same-sex) couple relationship” but in “a lack of faith in a God who desires our fulfillment.” Theologian Father Luca Lunardon also discussed what he called a necessary “relational conversion” of the entire “People of God,” echoing what Synodal Groups No. 6 and 7 published in their reports. [It looks like word salad, but it isn’t.]
Referring to the synodal “principle of pastorality,” [“pastorality”?!? Probably worse in Italian “pastoralità”] Lunardon said [NB] that people’s experiences can prompt the Church to reconsider its pastoral practices and the way it formulates moral norms. [And there it is.]
They are moving fast.
Wow. If you take the report from Group No. 9 at face value, it’s actually saying that it is a sin and affront to God to NOT engage in a same-sex relationship if one is inclined that direction.
Yet, somehow, it’s the SSPX who are the baddies for claiming there is a crisis within the Church. Yeah. Sure.

This reminds me of a conversation I had with a certain Franciscan in the Holy Land over 10 years ago who complained to me that those who adhere to traditional doctrine about marriage, sexuality, Holy Communion, etc don’t take into account the reality of people’s experiences. I wondered why we were limiting the discussion to aberrant sexuality and not taking into account the lived experience of arsonists.
God punished these sins. Otherwise the faith has to be a lie and built on sand. If the latter, there is zero point in the bishops existing.

Long, undefined words, like synod-ality and pastor-ality, remind me of George Orwell’s essay on “Politics and the English Language.”

Well, time is short. Only 3 1/2 years until 2030. The UN has had their Agenda 2030 out there for decades. There are deadlines to meet. If deadlines are not met, maybe the money stops. Or maybe heads will roll.
I don’t know how long they can pretend to not be changing doctrine when they are changing it in practice, but we’ll see.

Yes, the minions are moving fast…towards the precipice.
There is no need for all this gobbledygook and their conferences. There are already the ministries of Courage and Encourage to meet the needs of the alphabet people and their families. Courage helps people in these situations live the Faith, and Encourage helps support the faithful parents and families of alphabet people. All it takes is the will of those in charge to follow the Faith when meeting the needs of these people in their dioceses.
As Our Lord said when starting His ministry, “The time is accomplished, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent, and believe the Gospel.” (Mark 1:15) Would that our leaders would repent and believe the Gospel! And call upon us to do the same!
Pray for the alphabet people and their families, pray for our church leaders!

When do we start considering the “lived experiences” of pedophiles? Or psychopaths/sociopaths? I suspect these will be next once they get the Overton Window nudged along a bit more.
Shouldn’t gay clergy live in fear and judgement of God’s wrath?
[Shouldn’t everyone? Everyone should fear judgment. But those who try to live a virtuous life in the state of grace, do not have to fear it in the same way as those who live with a bad conscience. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. May all who have that affliction fear the Lord and strive for holiness.]

We need to look more at the Bible. Everything in the Garden of Eden were the things that are God’s. The sin of Adam and Eve proved that they couldn’t be trusted to honor the things that are God’s. They took their spiritual direction from the serpent. The Serpent Synod. God gave Cain counsel that he ignored and went off and killed Abel. The building of the Tower of Babel and the golden calf were very synodal. In the case of the golden calf Israel violated their solemn blood covenant. They broke their promise to God and were not true to their word. King Solomon entered into an ecumenical dialog with his foreign wives and they turned his heart away from God. The Bible is full of the lived experience of people being untrustworthy promise breakers who where unfaithful to God, where their word was not their bond.

In the New Testament the Parable of the Wicked Tenants is really a retelling of the Garden of Eden and the Fall of Man. Everything in the vineyard was put there by the householder. The wicked tenants proved that that they could not be trusted with the things that were the householder’s.

The question that the post-Vatican II Church needs to answer is is the Church honoring Christ’s New and Everlasting Covenant on which the Church was founded? Is it faithfully living out the Great Commission? Is the Deposit of the Faith being faithfully transmitted to the next generation? The clerical abuse scandal was a betrayal of the Church that was entrusted to the ordained hierarchy of the Church. The Church funds that should have been used for Godly purposes were turned into a slush fund to bail out the faithless clergy, no better than the wicked sons of Eli who treated the offerings to God with contempt. We are seeing in real time exactly who can be trusted with the things that are God’s. Sadly, many are living examples of Psalm 36.
There’s only time for this nonsense when time is not dedicated to the spiritual life.
If it weren’t so serious it would be laughable that a a meeting with alphabet people “converts” a bishop in 2026. He’s converted! And presumably tosses centuries of doctrine because of some guy’s sad story. Where was he before? So fake. I read he’s a big supporter of “immigration” too.
