This has to be one of the most photographed little streets or cul-du-sacs in Rome. S Simone is not far from Piazza Navona along the via Coronari which is a narrow street which leads from the Navona area to the Tiber and then to Castel Sant Angelo and the Vatican. The via Coronari has shops, antiques dealers, leather workers and trattorias along the way.
But this small “alcove” is simply beautiful especially in the early evening or night when the lighting makes it even more a piece of Roman eye-candy. You just feel complelled to stop and linger. The light and the rustic color of the buildings together with the greenery of the plants and flowers…well you can see why its worth a photograph or a “snap” as my old Aunt Margaret would say.
