On my way to KC
I will be seeing some of you in KC, where everything is up to date, I hear.
Slavishly accurate liturgical translations & frank commentary on Catholic issues - by Fr. John Zuhlsdorf o{]:¬)

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
Father, perhaps you’ll learn if they’ve gone about as far as they can go.
In Christ,
Comment by Nathan — 25 January 2008 @ 10:56 amI’ve heard they went and built a skyscraper seven stories high.
Comment by danphunter1 — 25 January 2008 @ 11:33 amNow thats as high as a building ought ter go.
Someone once said to me, kidding: “So what has KC ever produced?”
I replied, “Walt Disney. Your turn.”
Comment by RBrown — 25 January 2008 @ 11:43 amIt’s better than a magic-lantern show…

You can turn the radiator on whenever you want some heat!

Comment by danphunter1 — 25 January 2008 @ 10:11 pmWatch out for the burlesque.
I’m in KC. I’d love to meet up if there’s a group or something getting together. Could someone let me know? Thanks! chad (dot) toney (at) gmail (dot) com.

It was good to meet you, Fr. Z. Thanks for stopping by KC.
Comment by Wolftracker — 26 January 2008 @ 12:31 pmWell, out of Christian charity, I will refrain from making any comment about Fr. Z’s visit here to Kansas City.
Comment by Jack007 — 26 January 2008 @ 2:29 pmI will only point out that emails went unanswered and for someone who follows this blog, AND contributes, I am MOST disappointed in not being able to meet Father.
Interesting that so many people knew “where to go”. Hopefully this is not part of the “private club” mentality that permeates so many traditional Catholics.
Perhaps “Wolftracker” might have been better served posting BEFORE it happened, instead of EX POST FACTO. Too bad, as he otherwise has a nice blog.
Think, and PRAY about it! I certainly will.
In Jesu et Maria,
Jack

Jack007:
The event (location, time, etc.) was announced on this blog at the url above. There were no secret emails, no private club hand signals, or anything of the like. I did not blog on it prior to the event because the event was not mine, I do not know father, and it would have therefore seemed presumptuous for me to do so. I am sure Fr. Z would have enjoyed meeting you. Thank you for your kind words re by blog.

Comment by Wolftracker — 26 January 2008 @ 3:25 pmSorry Wolfman. Obviously not your fault.
I did not see that URL.
Silly me, as I read this blog EVERY single day, I never read “recent posts of interest you might have missed”, since I never miss any. Unless of course they’re not posted where I can see them! Apparently I must be the ONLY one that doesn’t read that. I figured it would have been posted with all the LATEST posts. Mea culpa!
At the time I thought it very strange that so many people knew about it.
Hopefully you can appreciate my frustration when I saw your pic of Father, just ten minutes from my house. I was NOT a happpy camper. Still not, but it’s too late now.
As far as Father Z not replying to my emails; I understand he must get hundreds a day. Besides, I’m sure he has way too many more important things to do; what with all his world traveling and all.
Comment by Jack007 — 26 January 2008 @ 5:15 pmEspecially frustrating, as I’m sure it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I can’t afford to be in Rome or London every other month. I really doubt if he’ll ever be back this way; given the importance and scenic beauty of our fair metropolis.
Good thing we have some of the most holy, and HUMBLE, priests right here, huh? Deo gratias!
Thanks to YOU for the kind words. You do have a GREAT blog; local flavor with the RIGHT point of view. Always on the mark.
Keep up the good work.
¡Viva El Caudillo!
Jack007: Shoot me an email and I will fill you in if you want.
