Prayer request – ordination

In your kindness please pray for Rev. Mr. Jeffrey Moore, who tomorrow will be ordained a priest.

I would love to have been there, but just couldn’t manage.

However, as St. Augustine said, where there is charity there are no distances.

    Father, I will be praying.

Rev. Mr. Moore was one of the first people to welcome me into the college seminary (many, many moons ago), and, for a young man far away from home for the first time, his kindess was greatly appreciated. I’m delighted to hear of his ordination at long last, and know that he will make a fine priest. He is in my prayers.

In addition, I’m chuckling at the fact that he will be ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Grampa. I know nothing about His Excellency, but based on the name alone, I would love to see the good bishop climb the ecclesiastical ranks so that one day we have the possibility of having a Papa Grampa.

Can we make a prayer exchange here? ;) In one week on 23 May I will be attending the ordination of five Dominican priests in Washington, DC. Please keep them in your prayers as well.

    Their names:
MARTIN PHILLIP BUI THAI NHAN, OP
    JOSEPH PIUS PIETRZYK, OP
    KEVIN HUGH VINCENT DYER, OP
    SALVADOR JOHN MARTIN RUIZ-MAYORGA, OP
    SETH THOMAS JOSEPH WHITE, OP

I will keep Rev. Mr. to-be-Fr. Moore in my prayers also! :)

My dear friends and especially you Tim, Thank you for your prayers and thank you Tim for your kind words. I am getting ready to lie down and sleep the night before my ordination and am extremely tired with all the preparation that has been going on and especially caring for my very dear friends and family who have come great distances to participate in these sacred mysteries. I thank Our Lord for his patience with me and his goodness throughout the years of journey. I have never been happier nor more joyful in all of my life. So I thank you all for your prayers and most of all, I thank Our Lady, without whose insistence perhaps I would not be approaching the altar as one consecrated to the Holy Service of Our Lord. Fr. Z, sorry you couldn’t make it and thanks for all your help and advice. I will remember you all tomorrow at the altar of Jesus Christ.

    Sincerely,
    don Jeffry Moore

If I may add one more intention to the list:
    Rev. Mr. Kirk Slattery
who will be ordained tomorrow as a priest of the Diocese of Colorado Springs.
