I listened to this while driving my tractor trailer. Then came home and showed my wife. Fantastic!

As a Canadian, I say thank you Fr. McTeigue.

I like this, pray for three things to be close-minded, judgmental and intolerant!

Thank you, Father! I had heard of Fr. McTeigue, but never heard him speak or read his books before. (Yes, I sometimes live under a rock.) :-) I will definitely be listening to him and reading his books now!

This is hands down the best speech I have heard in recent years— actually among the best ever— by a member of Catholic clergy or hierarchy or from a Pope or renowned theologian, all the more remarkable to me— a former speaker— in that McTeigue delivered it without even a cheat-sheet index card.

It is easy to speak coherently on a topic for an hour, if there is a simple theme or a few related ones. There is here, indeed, a simple theme but it contains such a plethora of detail and in good order that I am, in a word, stunned by its fluidity and power.. with humor. Mc Teigue exceeds even my high regard for him, putting him for this in the same perfection-league— if with very different style— as an earlier favorite fire-speaker of mine, Abp. Fulton Sheen.

Fr Zuhlsdorf titled the entry to this speech that as “Has it come to this?” Sadly, the answer is: Yes it has. McTeigue nails what has gone wrong, tells clearly what we must do and in doing so never even once reminds us that “time is greater than space.”

This was excellent, thank you for sharing! “I can find a cloud around any silver lining.” So funny! Glad he doesn’t give into his natural tendency to stay home and just write books. He has a talent for speaking as comments above noted.
