   This is only the beginning of the persecution. Lord Jesus, grant us the grace to look at our persecutors and always say, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.” May we all filled with charity and strength.

   This is disturbing, but no one should really expect anything else. These people are slaves to someone else’s sexual desires and are anguishing at their own lack of strength. You get the same sort of reaction when you talk to people with dependencies on chemicals, and even straight sex. This really makes me wonder about the usefulness of the traditional marriage demonstrations as they are being done here. The people who need to see the demonstration are the university administrators, politicians, and Hollywood producers that are the benefactors of this sort of sexual dependency.

   Was watching the Colbert Report show, basically mocking the traditional marriage protests and wins, and handily dismissing Obama’s trampling of the constitution with humor. When liberals aren’t being all ‘tolerant’, they’re handily laughing everything off and merely dismissing the truths they can’t refute. So they either fight or gaily dance their way around things.

   More efforts should be made to record and film and take pictures of protests when these things break out so as to document them and get people charged. The media will ignore it, after all they’re always willing accomplices who’ll look the other way.

   What has ever happened to plain old common sense and reason?
   What is good does not have to be tolerated. it is simply recognized as good, and therefore accepted and embraced.

   Horrifying. How long before Roman Catholic men stand up and realize that this is a war? Too many are asleep. This is the time to wake up and change the nation through force of words and actions. This principle of the war we are in is not lost on our adversaries, Christ have mercy on their souls.

    It is worth repeating the stages of out and out persecution, as in death. First, the group targeted is made fun of, ridiculed; second, the group is marginalized socially and then politically–with outbreaks of violence; third, the group has con-strictures as to freedoms through the law, such as freedom of speech; fourth, the group is outlawed in meeting, in gathering for worship, and as a politically viable group; fifth, the members of the group are tortured and killed.

    These were developed by sociologists and anthropologists, and psychologists after the horror of the Holocaust. This is what is happening in the States and in England as well. Take your pick as to which stage we are now experiencing.

    Yes, God bless these courageous men. I will pray for them. I couldn’t help feeling a bit sorry for the attackers along with my outrage. I can’t imagine being filled with such hatred. Prayers for them as well.

    Supertradmum, we are entirely on the same side, and we have already seen some outrageous things done to faithful Catholics, but perhaps someone can explain the continued existence of the KKK. Made fun of and ridiculed? Check. Maginalized socially and politically? Check. “con-strictures as to freedoms through the law, such as freedom of speech?” Not that I am aware of. KKK will be protested and shouted down when they speak, but to my knowledge, no authority stops them speaking. Outlawed from meeting? Again, not that I am aware of. Tortured and killed? No.

    Now, don’t get me wrong. I have complete faith in humanity to go nutzo, and that can certainly happen with persecution of Catholics, but looking at the precedents, the safe money goes to Catholics primarily being driven underground and marginalized.

    What you’re seeing now is not the KKK. These little ad hoc splinter groups calling themselves the Original Knights or the Genuine Knights (but not the Popular Front of Judaea) have no connection with the KKK of the 1960s and certainly not that of the 1920s, never mind the fraternal organization that Forrest founded after the War or its violent stepchild during Reconstruction.
    Nothing but the name and the garb. The Klan is dead, but some of the grave goods are being paraded around by brain-dead looters.

    I suspect, though I am not sure, that some or many today’s groups claiming some sort of KKK affiliation may indeed have historical derivation from the 1960′s Klan (which *definitely* derived from the 1920′s Klan). Regardless, there is an important, qualitative difference: Until sometime in the 1960′s, it was “respectable” to be in the KKK. No contradiction was seen between being a member of the Klan and being in the Chamber of Commerce, or even being a deacon at one of the Protestant churches. That is what made the Klan so dangerous.

    The really dangerous trends in society are the ones that don’t keep you out of the Kiwanis Club, because no one sees them as really that objectionable.

    Fair enough AmericanMother, but this seems like a quibble and not my main point because it seems they are dead like a worn-out political party, not because the authorities prevented them from meeting, or arrested them merely for being Klan members. (They did of course arrest them when they commited actual crimes.) In short, it doesn’t matter if skinheads who dons swastika tats have little connection to the historical Nazi party, the point is that the authorities may watch them carefully, they will get booed and shouted down when they appear in public, but no one arrests them for merely being skinheads. Why do we think Catholics will be arrested, tortured and killed “merely” for being Catholics?

    If I take your point correctly, you’re essentially saying this doesn’t happen in America. And I agree, I love America because to date this sort of pattern is one we do not follow — intentionally. We treat things we culturally dislike differently than other peoples have, in part because we recognize the culture can be wrong about what it momentarily dislikes. We feel public policy only applies to those areas where circles of rights intersect. It’s bold, and can go wrong, but it has meant that while we have our evils in this nation we don’t have pograms and we don’t have re-education camps.

    But because this has been the case does not in any way guarantee that it will be the case. The one thing I find very frustrating in Americans is that we tend to not get it that this is not the norm. Most societies do not function with political and religious and racial and class tolerance (true tolerance is the goal of America, meaning I can disagree with you or even despise what you believe in or stand for, I can even be horrifically bigoted in my attitude towards your group, but I must tolerate your existence and the fact that you retain the exact same rights to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, free expression, freedom of assembly, freedom to bear arms, freedom from unreasonable search and seizure, freedom of religion, all that, as I do). It is highly unusual and hard to maintain. Our nation now has a compulsory universal education system that determines what almost every member of American society learns, with the only real rival being the American popular media of internet and television. Neither of these education models in any way teaches correctly the American ideal of rights and tolerances. We have several generations who do not understand the difference between America and the rest of the world in this area, much less agree with it, appreciate it, want to protect it, be willing to die for it or fight for it. Retaining America’s distinction in this area is by no means an automatic. We can certainly lose it, it’s walking a tightrope, and so it’s much easier to fall off than to stay on if you’re not paying attention or if you don’t even realize the line you’re walking is in mid-air.

    Do I think, then, that Catholics could be tortured and killed for being Catholics at some point? If it becomes necessary for the folks gaining power to keep it, yes, it’s more than possible, because the raw bulk of the American people will not see it coming and by that time won’t mind it happening. Right now, the folks in power benefit from allowing young men to be spit on and shoved, so that’s what happens. If it becomes beneficial for that to intensify, it will. Have no doubt that a few autocrats and their hopeful followers (if not this set, then the next set, there’s always a set in the wings) will do whatever they need to do, the question is never that, the question is what the rest of us will do when they make that play.

    It won’t be till we get murdered in the streets by the secular police that people might care. Seriously this video makes me angry and I wonder how the heck I will be able to defend myself in Canada when this occurs. At least you all in the USA have the right to bear arms. Really this makes me want to purchase firearms for self defense. Sadly in Canada, you can’t do that readily. Even for hunting you need to get a license and also there is the useless long gun registry (useless b/c a lot of street crime is cause with illegal handguns).

    I might sound like a crazy person, but seriously, I think we Catholics should start taking the deadlier martial arts, like Jeet Kune Do, Krav Maga (Israeli Martial Arts) or MMA/Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu (Gracie family kind) for future and our children’s protection. People might also want to start building home altars as well, little hidey holes for priests (especially those who say the TLM/EF)like in Britain when Anglicanism went big in their history and Catholicism wasn`t very high on people`s happy lists. It’s going to get ugly. However if the Chastizement is true, it`ll get better in the end.

    Supertradmum, I found your website yesterday and printed off that list of the stages of persecution. One of the advantages these haters seem to have is that we just can’t believe they’re doing it. It’s so unAmerican, unjust, irrational. With your list, it appears a great deal more predictable and so we can prepare, at least emotionally, more for it. Thank you for that list. It really helped me.

    A friend who went into the realty business after retiring from service told me that the head of the Ohio KKK lived in the town where I live now and as a result real estate there was redlined until the early 80′s. I still see the old attitudes around there even now. It’s alive and well in some other places too. Ick.

    The homosexual activists here have taken a page straight from The Toddler’s Guide to Terrorizing Adults. It appears we are dealing with extreme emotional immaturity here. Parents know that there is a certain age when it is pointless to argue with a child, namely age 2 and ages 12-24, because the child has already made up their mind and is not hearing a word that you say. Sadly, we have what should be grown adults here acting like hysterical children, which means it’s time for the tough love- prayer and fasting. I will apply George W. Bush’s “You can’t negotiate with terrorists” motto here. Works for toddlers and out-of-control adults. While I think that TFP should continue to represent marriage in the public square, I don’t think they should expect any homosexual converts from their demonstrations. Rather, their demonstrations might serve to bolster the spirits of the majority of Americans who oppose redefining marriage, and show to those who have not really made up their minds about the issue the true face of the Tolerance movement. The homosexual agenda will not tolerate dissent, and as much as they decry bullying, it is the first thing they resort to when someone disagrees. Frankly, anyone who has done any pro-life protesting will recognize these absolute emotion-over-intellect tantrums, although I have to say that no one has ever sprayed pesticides at me. Anyone who stands for traditional Judeo-Christian morality in this age should not be surprised at the backlash. We should expect it. We should be wise as serpents and as gentle as doves, calmly ignoring the tantrums, praying and sacrificing for those who spew such hate, while trying to engage the public who is not so emotionally invested with sound arguments. I have personally been discussing the gay marriage issue with people based on Natural Law, without mentioning religion unless the other person is religious. While even the Natural Law argument can get people riled (because facts can never get in the way of feelings, and facts are just plain mean), the argument that God said only men and women can marry is almost always a non-starter unles you are talking with an evangelical. And LisaP, I’m pretty sure the public schools are our modern re-education camps. God make us articulate, loving, and courageous.

    There are two Holy Secularist Sacraments thou must never mock in any way, even indirectly: ‘gay marriage’ and abortion. Sometimes I comment on IMDB the movie site. Once, I casually made an anti-abortion comment (I believe it was on the movie Juno) and the ugly, obscene hate-filled response was so scary that I deleted my message.

    Well, they should know that Christ said: “Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake: Be glad and rejoice for your reward is very great in heaven. For so they persecuted the prophets that were before you.”(Mat. 5:11)

    Their reward shall be in heaven! The homosexual activists however have to repent lest they will burn forever.

    HyacinthClare, you are welcome and another thing to learn is peaceful response to such horrible treatment. Some are called to fight and some to resist passively. I have training years ago on how to resist passively in the face of pro-abortion protesters. It was a great lesson.

    Is anything in this video supposed to surprise us? Having lived in Madison, WI my entire life, this all looks sadly normal to me. The most surprising thing is that these men are courageous enough to continue to take the message of Truth to college campuses. May God bless them for their perseverance!

    I think H.E. Cardinal George was being a bit too optimistic when he said: “I expect to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr in the public square.” I fully expect to witness Catholics being martyred in this nation within my lifetime.
