The Nuns On The Bus Go ‘Round And ‘Round… with a WYMYNPRYST!

I suppose anyone can go to see the Nuns On The Bus go ’round and ’round.  This photo, however, from the Catholic Beat, says a lot.

25 June in Fountain Square, in Cincinnati, OhiO.

Sr. Simone Campbell and friend.

Sr. Simone, carrying a copy of the “Faithful Budget,” greeted a supporter while a film crew captured the moment. Behind them is supporter Janice Sevré-Duszynska, a peace activist associated with Maryknoll who has been “ordained” by a group claiming to be able to ordain women as priests.

No, I am not saying that the wyrd-wyman is on The Bus going ’round and ’round.

But she is in the photo!

I hope this tour never ends!

  1. Peter in Canberra says:

If they really are so busy doing charitable works they shouldn’t have time for this grandstanding nonsense.

  2. Andrew says:

And there is this from the Fishwrap:
“Campbell said the “Faithful Budget” would not cut spending. Its basic premise is “reasonable revenue for responsible programs,” – a phrase Campbell had the crowd repeat three times, a technique her teacher friends say is a good way to get people to remember a concept.”

OK kids, repeat after me: “Gyro, gyras, gyrat, gyramus, gyratis, gyrant” – repetitio est mater studiorum.

  3. dominic1955 says:

The bus nuns aren’t lefitst fringe lunatics at all. No, really! I mean it…

  4. AnnAsher says:

The woman clad in tee and sunglasses on her head us the prystess? How undignified an ensemble for a prystess. Shouldn’t it be made of billowing rainbow gauze? C’mon!

  5. Nicole says:

The woven bag must be for the ordination tambourine…?

  6. Nicole says:

AnnAsher – I think he’s referring to the woman in pink with the sign referring to the democratic party and the ordination tambourine carrying case…

  7. wmeyer says:

Birds of a feather, after all. When you’ve seen one apostate….

  8. Elizabeth D says:

Yes, the woman in pink, in the background having a conversation with one of the elderly “nuns on the bus”, is the one who famously “shook her ordination tambourine” while marching for “women’s ordination”.

  9. Maltese says:

Publicity hounds; what happened to the cloistered monk or nun, praying for our souls!

  10. acardnal says:

I turned my laptop sideways to read her (the woman prystess in pink) sign and it says “Wouldn’t it be great if the Democratic Party had as much courage as the Nuns on the Bus?”

  11. irishgirl says:

I see that this picture was taken in Fountain Square in Cincinnati; well, does anyone remember the female mimes called ‘The Fountain Square Fools’, who were at WYD in Denver in 1993 and did the Stations of the Cross? That got Mother Angelica all riled up, and she went on the air (EWTN was covering WYD) and called out the Church liberals who were advocating things like female ordination and inclusive language in the Mass.
These idiotic females (the false ‘priestess’ included) are today’s version of the ”The Fountain Square Fools’.
    ‘Nuff said….

  12. majuscule says:

I remember the days when you could tell who was a nun by her habit. Nowadays these women could be any layman–Nancy Pelosi even.

I bet they don’t even carry those clicker things they always used to remind us of the “silence in the halls” rule.

  13. Gail F says:

acardnal: The other side of the sign said “Republican policies stop a beating heart.” Really. (I took this picture.) That someone would think that was a clever and positive message says A LOT.

  14. JKnott says:

“Nuns on the Bus ” – forever proud to be “in the world” and OF the world!
There are many Evangelical missionaries sending bibles to China. Maybe they will be kind enough to send some of those bibles to the “The Bus” .

  15. jessicahoff says:

In relation to acardnal’s comment, wouldn’t it be great if the Democrats were on the same bus … Oh, but wait …!

  16. The Cobbler says:

As a resident of Cincinnati, may I say that the womynpriest presence here is pretty pathetic if I’ve never heard of it before now? Or were they all just visiting, not just the rock star travel bus? (Pity I didn’t know ahead of time, I might’ve stopped by and said something faintly logical — but no, I nearly forgot, exploding heads is covered under “thou shalt not kill”…)

  17. Angie Mcs says:

God bless Mother Angelica, for whom i pray and wish all the best. I do, however, wish EWTN could find such an exceptional person, clad in her beautiful habit and with her humor and intelligence, to help people focus on the power and importance of Women Religious, and to counteract/ neutralize these tiresome bus- people.
