This morning I head to the airport to fly back to the USA. I won’t have a lot of time when I change planes after customs, so I am unsure about getting online until… well… late.

My time in the UK, and Rome, has been very rewarding. I met many very good people associated with the movement around the older form of Mass. I had a chance to speak to a fine group of priests about the Motu Proprio. The clergy I have met are exceptional men.
This has been an enlightening experience. To those of you whom I met in the UK reading this, I send greetings and thanks.

I suppose you already know there has been one Pontifical Mass in the old use, celebrated by Bishop Longley, auxiliary in Westminster.
This was a Solemn requiem for the bicentenary of the death of Prince Henry, Cardinal Duke of York, who died in Italy in 1807.
It is the only Pontifical Mass in the old use to have been celebrated in England since “Summorum Pontificum”.
I think it could be a long wait until the next such Pontifical Mass in England.
I’m not holding my breath.
