Father Z: Hopefully he will be able to finish the second volume of Jesus of Nazareth and get something done on the “social” encyclical.
Of course, we all know of a (presumably) briefer and more concrete document that we hope he attends to promptly before proceeding with these more complex projects.
and pray tell, what is the briefer and more concrete document that we want B-16 to attend to???
This guy has been on vacation all summer…. what a life…. so he has a couple weeks to goof off, write, eat bratwurst and drink beer. Sounds more like Ernest Hemingway than anything else. Really, I like this Pope, because he is an intellectual and really has begun to leave his mark on the Church. His trips to America and to Australia were very important as is his upcoming trip to France, where he gets to meet the President of France and his model wife. That should be interesting.
BTW: the pope’s mother has her family roots in South Tyrol
Dr. Joe –
I think Henry is referring to the document clearing up misconceptions on the implementation of Summorum Pontificum.
At some level, I don’t think the Pope is ever really on vacation, just like the President. The cares and worries of the office follow you wherever you go, even if you have scheduled down time.
Thanks for posting the video, Fr. Z!
*Hopefully he will be able to finish the second volume of Jesus of Nazareth and get something done on the “social” encyclical.*
I’ve almost finished reading (and listening to on CD) the first volume: It is INCREDIBLY good! It’s helping me to delve to greater depth into the mystery of God made Flesh.
