My wife’s name is Barbara and this is a church I look to enter when I am in this neighborhood as it bears her name – St Barbara. This is close to the Campo de’ Fiori but just a couple of short blocks from the beautiful parish church of St Trinitia dei Pellegrini which offers all their Masses and sacraments in the Tridentine form using the 1962 missal. Fantastic music (schola is gone in July and August though)and its a beautiful church. And FrZ and ZedHeads helped raise money for the baptismal font there. But, Saint Barbara’s church is a very small but a priceless gem worth a visit for quiet, for calm and for prayer. It was closed at one point for nearly a 100 years but rededicated and restored about 30 years ago. Its not always opened so it’s hit and miss but if you’re strolling this area(filled with fine shops and street vendors) make a visit and ask for the intercession of this saintly woman. After I attend Mass at Trinita I make it a habit to go here and pray the rosary with my wife, Barbara or if alone, for her. A treasure. Thanks FrZ.
