I love that strange building, indeed when a student in Rome, many moons ago, we did an exhibition on 1930s architecture incorporating it.
But the inscription reads not, in the light of the modern world, as a triumph, but as an epitaph.
Does this mean that I am not the only one who sees a resemblance between the Cardinal Archbishop of Chicago and George Jetson?
