Prayer request for an amazing priest blogger

I warmly ask the readership to pray for Fr. John Hunwicke of the superb blog Fr Hunwicke’s Mutual Enrichment. I’ve been told that he is ailing and it might not be trivial.

Fr Hunwicke’s Mutual Enrichment is an obligatory daily stop for me. Rarely does one find the right combination of erudition and wit sharpened by the whetstone of time and experience.

    Praying.

  2. Venerator Sti Lot says:

Father John’s saying on 12 September “I have recently had some episodes of ‘hospitalisation’ … perhaps readers might spare a prayer or two, and some Masses, for me ” got me praying, and on 19 September he had the mildly expressed but alarming question, “Is San Gennaro good for people with a dodgy pancreas?”

Thank you for this request and encouragement!

Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for Fr. Hunwicke. Amen

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Fr Z. I will certainly pray for dear Fr Hunwicke. He’s a unique gentleman, his life story must be interesting. Such intelligence and education, yet Father is very humorous and very warm. It would be terrific to sit near Father and just listen to him in conversation, I’m sure.
Please Jesus, take good care of Father Hunwicke, and let us keep him.

He’s been in my Morning Offering by name [along with you and a list of other priests] for years. The man is diamond.

Will certainly add the erudite and edifying Fr. John Hunwicke to my prayer list.

As a US Catholic husband and father usually stuck with the very mixed and often mediocre experience of the dominant Novus Ordo parish Mass, I am so grateful to have access to the knowledge and wisdom and wit of Fr. Hunwicke. I join my fervent prayers with those of all who are praying for him.

    Ad multos annos…dear Lord.

One of my sons was in the grad school at Oxford and met him a few years ago. Fr. H was delightful, and shared many stories of Oxford in his day.

May Our Lady console and help this faithful priest!
