Time to move Holy Mass back inside and rid Bernini’s piazza of that gas station canopy.
I walked by Piazza San Pietro Saturday night on the way to Borgo Pio for dinner, about 30 minutes after the event ended and as everyone was leaving. There were people everywhere; cardinals, bishops, priests, faithful.
I suspect this photo was taken well before the event began — look at the time stamp. There is an ongoing prayer vigil that started Sunday for the Synod, and that might have been the folks in the photo.
