My dad (RIP) was a seminarian at the Prop in the early 1930s. I’m grateful that he left, married my wonderful mum and had me and my siblings. On the shelves next to me is a copy of Cardinal Gasparri’s “Catechism” which His Eminence handed out to my dad and every other seminarian at the Prop when he visited. It’s great … not verbose or vague … just the facts, ma’am. I’m looking forward to reading Bishop Schneider’s Catechism when I can get hold of a copy. I suspect the same concision and effortless orthodoxy will run through the pages.
Here in Australia it’s the feast of St Clement’, and my dad’s birthday, so I’m particularly glad to have come across that pic of the Prop today.
Here’s something I only recently discovered reading my Butler’s. Coincidentally November 23rd is also the feast of St Felicitas (She is not to be confused with St Felicity of Perpetua and Felicity deserved fame.) Felicitas was according to tradition the mother of the Seven Holy Brothers, martyrs who whose feast was celebrated (until recently) on July 10.
Dad’s birthday is November 23. July 10 is my own birthday. Holy snap!!
