Meanwhile, the TLM with Archbp. Cordileone at the Eucharistic Congress is jam packed

I’m sure more reports will come in.  I am interested in the sermon, if there is one.

“Archbishop… the Nuncio is on the line and he wants to speak with you immediately!”

  2. TheCavalierHatherly says:

    “Come (mothers) and Fathers
    Throughout the land
    And don’t criticize
    What you can’t understand
    Your sons and your daughters
    Are beyond your command
Your old road is rapidly agin’
Please get out of the new one
If you can’t lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'”

Well, well, well, how the turntables… umm…

    Love to see it.

    Very nice.

I got there about 45 minutes before mass was to start. It was full. I managed to find a seat, however I gave it up right before mass to someone that needed it more than I.
I stepped outside for some fresh air and wasn’t allowed back in. I went over to the overflow tent which was by then overflowing into the adjacent park. They were still bringing out chairs from the school well into the homily.

The oppressive heat that has been plaguing the midwest for several weeks ended overnight in Indy. It was 78 degrees, low humidity and a slight breeze. That’s unheard of for mid July at 4:00 in the afternoon in Indy. The tent was, if not pleasant, extremely bearable.

The archbishop was wearing blue as he processed outside.

Father, I have pics. If you would like more, e-mail me.

    Silence and more zealous fasting.

What is more beautiful than sitting in silence at the TLM?
Catholics were always known by Fish on Friday. A small sacrifice. Fasting is more than just food, it’s food for the soul.

Brought happy tears to my eyes to watch the videos.

  7. Midwest St. Michael says:

Our son Brady and his girlfriend Jada were there! Proud of them making the effort to worship with the good Archbishop Cordileone.

  8. Ave Maria says:

When/if the false church takes away my diocesan Sunday TLM, I will do what is necessary to continue to attend it even if it means driving through terrible traffic for an hour and a half to get there. There is another local option as well.

    Not:

One of my favorite stories about a small sacrifice (pre- Vatican II) is the story about the franchise owner of a McDonald’s in Cincinnati. He was the guy who presented the Filet-O-Fish (Red Barn in those days had a big fish) idea to Ray Kroc in 1961. The Filet-O-Fish was a hit. Part of the motivation was this franchise owner was in a part of town that was 82 percent Catholic, most of them German or Irish. This was a time when on an average Sunday 70 percent of Catholics attended Mass and this franchise owner was losing money on Fridays.

Loved that story! The city where we live has a very strong Sicilian and Portugese population. Also a fishing port.
Just a little note that I have first hand knowledge about. Mcdonald’s Filet of Fish is made by Gortons of Gloucester in their own special department.
