I agree with Matthew Hazell, below. It is refreshing not to be insulted and scolded.
This is excellent stuff: “Holiness is neither one option among many nor an abstract ideal… The world greatly needs pastors who offer more than simply words or programs… ”
A papal message that doesn’t excoriate priests for clericalism, or not being synodal enough—refreshing! https://t.co/6NcCaGxMxL pic.twitter.com/lVqMCTwBpy— Matthew Hazell (@M_P_Hazell) June 12, 2026

Great! (said with all earnestness)
Now, wouldn’t it be great if, instead of just words, there was also the action of returning to all priests their birthright of being able to offer the traditional Latin Rite Mass with no strings attached! And to be able to offer them in actual parish churches instead of school gymnasiums! Just reinstate the terms offered through Summorum Pontificum, and surely that’s an aid to helping priests grow in holiness, right?
Agreed. And, while he’s at it, how about a serious sanction for the pro-lgbtq component of ordained religious: as Martin, Cupich, McElroy, Tobin, etc, or, better, their excommunication until repented.
If he does excommunicate SSPX after July, and NOT such as those named above, what little hope there is now for a soon-recovery to a united Mystical Body will be…. lost. The truth will win in the end, but likely not in what little is left of my lifetime or that of my kids; grandkids? Maybe.
He could have made strides to bring back the Orthodox but he made the same mistake of previous Popes. He said He was the Bishop of Rome.
No! You are Peter, the Rock, the head of the Church of the whole world.
Yes.
