Back in March of this year, Leo sent a letter to French bishops via Cardinal Parolin wherein he urged them to pursue “generous inclusion” and “concrete pastoral solutions” for Catholics attached to the Vetus Ordo.
It seems to me that allowing the Ad Petri Sedem Latin Mass pilgrims to celebrate a TLM at St. Peter’s would have been an excellent opportunity for Rome to model for the world’s bishops just what it means by “generous inclusion” and “concrete pastoral solutions” for Latin Mass Catholics.
I get the sinking feeling that telling the pilgrims they are not particularly wanted at St. Peter’s is precisely what this pontificate means by “generous inclusion” and “concrete pastoral solutions”. Just empty words.
