My last full day in Rome has come to its conclusion. Tomorrow early it’s off to FCO.
Today was the Feast of the Holy Relics preserved in Rome. I had the honor of saying Mass at what was once the tomb of St. Giovanni Battista de Rossi which, because of its contact with the body of the saint (now transferred to another church) is a special 2nd class relic, at least. A great saint.
The sun rose at 06:45
The sun set at 17:02
The Ave Maria is still in 17:30 cycle.
Tomorrow is a 1st Friday.
NB: I have a priest onboard who could really benefit from a Gregorian Mass series (with a generous stipend…. my words, not his). He says only the Novus Ordo. Drop me a line. HERE Put in the subject line “REQUEST GREGORIAN MASS”
I did a lot of chores today, cleaning, throwing, sorting. Packing is getting easier, since I have enough things in my place that I don’t have to lug impedimenta back and forth. I’m taking home a particular kind of soap that the Josephite Sisters who prepare starched corporal use in their preparation. We shall see. I have my own recipe, but they are the pros and I a mere dabbler.
I went to a favorite place for supper with a friend. We split a couple of things.
This is/was thin sliced tongue and pizza bianca with homemade mayo and herbal pesto.

Next, again a split course, risotto milanese and ossobuco. This is just half a portion. It is the sort of thing that you get on a winter day when you have to chop wood. So, good. A half portion was about right.

White to move and mate in 4.

NB: I’ll hold comments with solutions ’till the next day so there won’t be “spoilers” for others.
Meanwhile…
